So, you UNBELIEVERS!!!
…
Oh, first of all, good evening everyone :)
…
But now: SO, YOU UNBELIEVERS!!!
Look at my title. What does it say? Yes, exactly! Something I have told you before. Something I have told you often. Literally for years now! A fragrance that makes you want to take a bite. And you never believed me. You laughed at me. Thought I was crazy… tss…
But now… now I have the ultimate proof that there are fragrances that make you want to bite. Because I discovered this fragrance here. Charm Mystery by Birkholz. And no, unfortunately, I wasn't bitten… not at all *sniff and sigh*
But: In the perfume shop where I saw the fragrance… guess what was written there! Yes yes… you should really check for yourselves. I admit I only took a quick snapshot, but take a look in my album (in the regular album, not the perfume album, because I would have to submit the picture here)! What does it say on the plaque for this fragrance? Yes, exactly! It actually says "The fragrance to bite!" Mu ha ha ha. And this is also mentioned on several pages about this fragrance if you search for it! I told you. Again and again, and there it is now. Black on white! Well, since it was a golden plaque, it’s actually black on gold, but it’s there!! And now you are all speechless!!!
He he he :D
Well then. Birkholz is a brand I hadn’t heard of until now. I only discovered it a few days ago, and it seems there are quite a few nice fragrances, including Green Garden, for example. However, I still need to sniff through these fragrances, so I can’t say much about them yet. But it’s interesting that you can layer these fragrances together, somewhat similar to Jo Malone fragrances. And the manufacturer also provides tips on which fragrances layer best together, although I find that some of the fragrances I have briefly sniffed so far work well on their own, like this one here, which has a lovely, sweet floral scent.
**The Fragrance:**
I find that the fragrance starts directly with sweet floral jasmine, as I can’t really smell any lemons or mandarins in the top notes. But the jasmine is immediately recognizable, it smells pleasant and beautiful. A few minutes later, you can smell the peaches, which give the fragrance a fruity touch, but they are a bit weak and start to fade after about fifteen minutes.
In the background, there are faint roses, as you can only smell them briefly, since throughout the entire fragrance development, the jasmine is always the most prominent.
Later, from the base, the fragrance becomes a little heavier-floral, as it seems to me that there is ylang-ylang in it (which also has a slightly earthy scent later on). This lasts for about two hours, after which this ylang-ylang-like note becomes a bit weaker. The fragrance is also sweeter in the base, as the vanilla starts to smell really good, which makes the fragrance more powdery. The musk that follows adds another (darker) sweetness, and due to the powdery touch of the vanilla, it feels cleaner and is generally a seductive scent. And it remains like this until the end, making it a truly wonderful fragrance!
**The Sillage and Longevity:**
The sillage is good, as I could still smell the fragrance I sprayed on my wrist outside in the cold for a little while under my thicker jacket. It has a generally stronger aura and is definitely noticeable. The longevity is also very good, as the fragrance lasts longer than twelve hours.
**The Bottle:**
The bottle is rectangular, no actually even square, and feels solid. It has a golden label on the front and a golden cylindrical cap. A leather band has been attached around the cap, which looks nice and comes in a different color for each fragrance; for this one, it is reddish-pink. A nice bottle.
So!
Well, should I say it again? He he! Is the fragrance now biteable? :D
I would say: Yes! Okay, in the initial phase of the base, I might not like the described heavier floral note because it reminds me a bit of ylang-ylang, and I find that flower a bit cloying, but this impression lasts only one to two hours at most, and secondly, that doesn’t mean the whole fragrance is bad during that time, as many beautiful scents like vanilla and musk also smell lovely and contribute their beautiful scent, which softens this heavier floral note. Oh, and thirdly, this will only bother me a little, so I think you ladies might actually like the fragrance very much. So I say: Yes, the fragrance makes you want to bite :)
After all, it smells of sweet jasmine and seductive musk, making it indeed very lovely and especially suitable as a fragrance for going out and seducing and… well, I can really say it again:… as I said, to make you want to bite, mu ha ha ha! :DD
So give it a try, you might like it too. It can be found, for example, in larger Douglas stores, like the big fragrance temple on Zeil in Frankfurt.
Well, in any case, the Birkholz brand started off very well for me, and I hope to discover more beautiful fragrances from this brand over time!
So then, until next time, and have a nice evening :)
Unfortunately, hardly any Douglas stores have it, only Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, and I think Munich or Berlin. Sadly, not in Hamburg. I’d like to know where I can test it here.
I tested that one today too - really tempting. And I can't find the right words for it: I find it not only powdery but also sandy. You can't really smell sand, but I don't know how to describe it better.
I just discovered the Birkholz fragrances too. I was really impressed by Green Garden and Velvet Orchid! You don't need to layer them; they're already perfect on their own!
