Surrounded by the beautiful, oriental yet heavy winter fragrances that are now being offered in perfumeries for the pre-Christmas season, I reached for a subtle bottle with a pink content in my perfume scent overflow. The first spray was almost a little revelation in the world of winter vanilla-spice-musk scents that were joyfully sprayed around me! A small smile crossed my face, and my first thought after the first sniff was: Joy! I understand it now, as grapefruit and orange caress my olfactory center. Then it became floral, but not intrusive, actually very delicately floral. The peony (by the way, one of my favorite floral scents in nature) creates a perfect transition from the cheerful sprightliness of the top note to the beautiful heart note. The base, which I can still perceive on my wrist after several hours, is warm, soft, slightly vanillic, and yet very musky. I am also surprised by the slightly leathery note that is clearly present for me and I find it excellent. A beautiful skin-pure scent. The fragrance slightly reminds me of the wonderful Essence d'Orange by Cartier, although this scent completely lacks the floral aspect and this slightly leathery orange scent stands out.
Although I see Bellissima more as a spring and summer fragrance, it gives me a bit of calm and balance back now in winter. While my surroundings want to envelop me with wild orientals and chypres, I remain discreet and softly reserved.
