So first of all... who came up with the idea that Mamluk smells similar :D? The scents have absolutely no resemblance :D. Mamluk is more of an oriental, while Passionate has very little of that.
With Passionate, I can strongly smell the resin. But it's wonderfully authentic, like I've never experienced before. Incense does not smell like smoke. I believe many associate it with smoke clouds. But when resins are burned, it is mainly the essential oils that are released, and the smoke production is not that intense. And the scent here is similar. A delicious resinous smell, resinous, very sweet-fruity, and slightly vanillic. Really tasty. The oud here is very soft and smooth, absolutely not animalic, but it saves everything from the gourmand overkill. Without oud, the scent would probably be too girly and sweet. And yes, it comes from the Agarwood Collection. The fragrance notes are simply not correct here.
It is too feminine for me to ultimately want to buy it for myself, not even as a decant. But the ladies who love resins and fruits must check out this treasure. It is warm but not dark. It has something exotic-Caribbean about it, without being fresh... it works in every season. Just a really beautiful, delicious scent that suits anyone from 20 to 60. Please test it.
I absolutely need to get to know more from Boadicea the Victorious.
