Invigorating Boadicea the Victorious 2010

As the year comes to an end…
There are days when you just feel unmotivated, completely lacking drive, even quite depressed and therefore in a bad mood… today is one of those days, and sometimes this state unfortunately drags on for many more days. Days, weeks, months, … actually even years… you just struggle through the days, time flows by without you noticing, and before you know it, summer is over, Christmas is approaching, and the year is almost over.
And then,… well then everything starts all over again (New Year)… and then you’re just sluggish…
And when you have nothing to do, then,… then you fish out a fragrance like Invigorating from the sample box, which is fortunately always nicely filled (but not always with good scents), a fragrance whose name translates coincidentally to “invigorating” or “strengthening”… which then feels like a joke. As if fate is laughing at you… as if a “small” fragrance could quickly make you feel “invigorated,” hmm…
Well,… we’ll see how the fragrance will perform… I’m curious…
The fragrance:
The scent starts warm and fresh at the same time with citrus fruits, where you can best smell oranges or Yuzu. At the same time, there’s also a warm and somewhat strong, sweet note that I attribute to jasmine.
Additionally, there’s something herbal, almost spicy or herb-like, which will later turn out to be the licorice.
Even though it’s not mentioned here, I also smell something light and smoky, similar to incense or myrrh.
In the heart note, there’s basically hardly any change, as all the fragrance notes from the beginning remain, only the citrus scents become a bit weaker and a rose joins in, although this also seems a bit weak to me here and is hardly present in the base.
A little later, you can smell the licorice better. A bit of chocolate adds another sweet note (ah I understand, they say chocolate should at least make you happy…), but I think you can smell the amber better in the end, along with a remnant of fruity notes and still the incense-like scent.
The sillage and longevity:
The projection is quite good and doesn’t fade too quickly. The fragrance will be noticeable on you for some time, and you also leave a small scent trail behind, of course, when dosed appropriately.
The longevity is about twelve hours, maybe a bit more. So the longevity is quite good.
The bottle:
The bottle is round and transparent on the sides, showing the yellowish fragrance liquid. On the front, there’s a round metal “label” that looks like a shield with Celtic ornaments or symbols. The name of the fragrance is printed lower down at the base of the bottle. The cap is chrome-plated and looks like a chalice from the side. All in all, a very beautiful and interesting bottle.
Invigorating has become a successful fragrance. Starting with warm-citrusy and sweet notes, it gradually takes on a slightly incense-like note, remains sweet, and smells of the winter season.
The question is whether the fragrance is really suitable for invigorating and energizing you; in any case, the scent is warming and soothing. As mentioned, the fragrance is for autumn and winter and is suitable as a daytime scent. Or for leisure, perhaps also a little for going out. Furthermore, the fragrance is unisex, even though the beginning smells quite feminine.
Hmm… is the fragrance invigorating now? I’m not sure. It rather stimulates my thoughts, accompanied by a strange feeling of loneliness, which is paradoxical since it also reminds me, for example, of crowded Christmas markets. Perhaps my perception is due to my current emotional state; it’s hard to say. In any case, no fragrance has triggered such feelings or even intensified certain emotions and prompted me to think in a long time.
Anyway, this was my first Boadicea fragrance, and I’m already looking forward to how other scents from this brand will affect me. I think it’s good that a fragrance can sometimes evoke a certain feeling, even if it shouldn’t always be positive…
… but honestly, at least that’s a kind of change.
Well,… this fragrance is definitely worth a test if you ever get the chance. Maybe it works quite differently for you and simply reminds you of beautiful winter days. You have to try it for yourself…

My first Boadicea was Intense, which I love very much. It became my personal favorite and seems to suit me, as I often get asked about it. When I was back in Munich, I found myself at Beck again, where I spent about 2 hours in front of the B shelf. Then I decided on Invigoarting. And now my friends like it even more on me. Thankfully, I don't like all the B's, and my budget dreads the day when Blue Sapphire wants to come to Vienna with me :-)

For me, it's a fitting scent when winter just won't end... so February. That's the worst time of the year for me! It brings a little hope!
