Pure Parfum
I'm always looking for vintage fragrances so i was surfing ebay and i came across this version. It said it was for MEN but obviously it was wrong. I'm really not angry because I'm currently wearing it and i think a man can get away with it. Thia stuff is STRONG!! Top to bottom left to right front and back. This stuff rocks. Launched in 1985 and I'm not at all surprised how strong this is considering when it came out. Man the 80s were just a fantastic decade! There will never ever be another time period like it. This fragrance is spicy sweet and cinnamony throughout. It just lasts. Period! I got a good deal also so if you are interested just go on ebay or etsy or mercari and u should find it. Go easy on the application because it's quite strong and you will notice the nice peach note in the opening while the base is much more animalic. Also oakmoss, FABULOUS REAL OAKMOSS! Where have u gone my friend. I do hope that u find your way back.

#..x&..?!?!.. or "just cuddling today"?
SCENARIO 1:
The storm suddenly breaks out.
Streams of rain and hail, piercing the leaves.
The last few meters to the forest cabin, quickly run.
Door slammed shut, relieved laughter.
Soaked and dripping puddles.
Leaf scraps fished from the hair.
Their eyes meet. And a very awkward silence.
She runs to the bathroom. He just takes a quick look around.
The old cabin has stood empty for a long time.
Retro furniture, flower-spice potpourri with cinnamon sticks.
Ubiquitous dust. So yesterday...
An open door crack. Coincidence? Intent?
Droplet-drenched back. Small of the back dimples beneath the cross.
Her gaze over the wet shoulder, just a step away.
No more.
The nose buried in the wet hair.
Nape hairs bristling under fingertips.
Pulse fluttering in the cradle of the collarbone.
Sweet-spicy taste of the skin. Hers, his.
Warmth. Cinnamon warmth. Breath warmth. Body warmth. Sensory heat.
Hunt me. Catch me. Scratch me. Kiss me. Bite me. Love me.
Outside, the storm rages, throwing itself against the walls with full force like a wild cat, scratching at the windows, hissing and howling along with the storm wind. Outside, AC/DC plays 'Thunderstruck'...
In here, at the epicenter, it is almost silent, only wild pounding in the temples. Chris Isaac's 'Wicked Game' in the back of the mind.
The rest of the world is insignificant.
As long as the storm lasts...

#..x&..?!?!.. What.Was.That?! That Obsession, after 20 years of determined rejection, gives me THIS head cinema... Other versions of Obsession have also been described as “sexy” and “naughty.” My feeling is somewhat hmm... strange, special - Obsession smells incredibly erotic to me, like wet (note, not freshly washed!) hair. After a storm, when green scraps are flying. Smells of wood and dust of the cabin. Of skin that is slowly warming up. And also something animalic/civet. Of warm pulsating spices, cinnamon. Of moss, of sweet resin, of “wild,” of “more!” This damp, musty, exciting scent of wet human hair I have not encountered in any other fragrance. Cookies? Christmas? I don't smell that. I don't want to either. Compared to the vintage EdP, the extrait shows no further differences apart from the dimmed volume, the finely faceted green-mossy vs. warm-spicy contrast, and a more intimate sillage. The new version (after all, one must know what to expect when vintage supplies are exhausted) can surprisingly be smelled. It almost aligns with the feeling of the old one. Emphasis on “almost.” The green leaf/herb/moss notes are replaced more quickly by the warm cinnamon base. I still wouldn't call it sweet, despite the now more present vanilla. The animalic aspect is trimmed, tamed, and with it the eroticism. To make it clearer:

SCENARIO 2:
The storm suddenly breaks out.
Streams of rain and hail, piercing the leaves.
The last few meters to the forest cabin.
Door slammed shut, relieved laughter.
Soaked and dripping puddles.
Leaf scraps fished from the hair.
Everything just like back then. Do you remember? ;)
She runs to the bathroom.
He should do the same please (one doesn't want to catch a cold!)
He just takes a quick look around.
Haven't been here in a long time, old house!
The retro furniture, potpourris, cinnamon sticks.
Now also vanilla candles.
And dust. So far, almost everything as before.
An open door crack. Definitely not a coincidence!
Droplet-drenched back. Small of the back dimples beneath the cross.
The nose in the wet hair, just like back then...
“Sweetheart, just cuddling today, okay?”
“Okay...”
Outside, the storm rages, but not for long.
And so the world soon sinks into the spicy warm cuddle sleep...

Today's EdP is still a beautiful scent. As long as it doesn't change anymore *knockonwood*. Nothing against cuddling, but as long as vintage extrait remnants are not exhausted and available - in my mind, it's not just cuddling ;)

Obsessed with the Hunt
My subscribers (and by that, I don't mean my haters, who apparently have also subscribed to me) may have noticed that I particularly enjoy commenting on extraits. This is primarily because these higher-concentrated versions are rarer, and often there are no comments about them yet, so I like to be the pioneer here. But I do have a weakness for the precious extraits (certainly fueled by a blog from Turandot), especially when it comes to classics where the EDT or EDP version has already been reformulated once or multiple times. Since I prefer things to be more intense, complex, and expressive, I am rarely enthusiastic about the diluted new versions. It may be an illusion - but I still hope to have the original formulation in front of me with the extraits and thus go on a hunt for these treasures. Although I know that they are usually closer to the skin than EDT and EDP. But I wear perfume primarily for myself; my surroundings are quite easily overwhelmed by scents...

I only have two miniatures of “Obsession Parfum” with already very dark liquid, but they seem completely intact to me. Unfortunately, I perceive a slight plastic note, which my EDP mini also has. I don't know if this is due to the age of the fragrances or if it is even intentional in the end.
In my younger years (early 90s?), I once tested “Obsession,” but I found it too aggressive and piercing at the time. I had thistles as an imaginary image in my mind... No, it was nothing for me back then!
Today, I can no longer relate to that, but I have much more sympathy for the “oriental” fragrance direction now. I perceive “Obsession” as warm-spicy and only slightly sweet. I can understand quite well why many have been enamored with this scent for years. However, the plastic note prevents me from giving it more than an 8.0.

I am not familiar with the current version. However, I recently spoke to a colleague in the hallway who smelled wonderfully of spicy-sweet gingerbread. She was wearing “Obsession”! But maybe she had the vintage version...

Let the bodies hit the floor || 46% think this is feminine? Hm.
(Drowning Pool, Bodies; Sinner, 2001)

So. My third official 'ladies' perfume'. A bargain. 5 ml for €60. Thanks to the souk here. Again.
Vintage. Well over 40 years old. Hm.
Dead? No. Burned out? No.
Fantastic? Yes.
Of course, it was a blind buy, since it simply doesn't exist anymore.
The pure perfume. From 1985. Never consciously smelled.
I thought, if it’s too sweet for me, I’ll just give it to my girlfriend.

I fear I will have to keep it…
This is magical. Not half as sweet as Obsession for Men Eau de Toilette. Which I also have. The aftershave note is even stronger here than with For Men.
No worries. It’s still warm spicy fake-oriental, because Calvin Klein just has no idea about oriental scents.
God, how incredibly soft, warm, elegant, and high-quality.
This is NOT Marly. NOT Ugolini or whatever his name is. Also NOT Amouage.
This is vintage, therefore by principle better.
It would be presumptuous to recognize the scent notes in any form.
It smells like Obsession, for men or women. In the ultimately highest quality.
Incredible.
Unisex at least. Today. Every mainstream and pseudo-niche perfume for men (?) is sweeter than this here.
This here… is simply impressive.
It really blows away everything that dares to challenge it.

No. The past wasn’t all better.
Perfumes were. That he/she signs impressively. What a beauty. What a power. But always with composure. That’s sorely missed nowadays.
Perfect.
Thanks to the souk.

Oh. I used a 1/100 drop for testing. Yes. Period.

Beautiful bottle, feminine scent for the day
Very fresh feminine fragrance, my bottle delivered what it promised, a lot of joy from a good EDP for the day. It didn't last too long, but I enjoyed wearing it very much, and it was still without a sprayer, which I prefer compared to now, where there are only sprayers. It's all about the dosage...
CK probably thought the production wasn't worth it. I wouldn't have discontinued it. I don't know if there was a body lotion for it. That would surely be excellent as well. I'm not an EDP wearer of those heavy scents that you wear at night. My living space is more spread out during the day when the light is present. And this EDP or even the EDT definitely belongs there.

Kate has vanished in the tides of time.
Obsession is on its way back to the whales.
It was always just her retro cinnamon vanilla eyes.
