I really like it

Now I'm looking at the next miniature from my collection. I have to say that I find Nuance really beautiful. The longevity on my skin is about 8 hours with a moderate sillage.

The top note starts off quite opulent, sweet, and spicy-oriental. I can detect cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves. Then, green hints of mint, galbanum, angelica, mugwort, and a bit of menthol come into play. The heart note is floral, powdery, and somewhat fruity thanks to orange blossom, mimosa, rose water, and ylang-ylang. The base has a woody and slightly balsamic scent of sandalwood, cedarwood, and offers a lot of bourbon vanilla.

For me, Nuance is a really beautiful and complex chypre. I will definitely keep my miniature.

Dusty Times (but not so long ago)

"Launch year 1996," I read above. But I thought the fragrance was much older. From the fifties of the 20th century... because of the fragrance concept! It reminds me of the full-bodied, rich, and elegant chypres of the "economic miracle era." So à la Dior. New fashion, new femininity, casual seriousness.
Even with the top notes, a "back-in-the-day feeling" arises. I see myself in a "twinset," a combination of matching sweater and jacket. And in a swaying skirt (even though I never wear such a thing). And it goes on...
A skillful mix of green notes, herbs, and flowers (by no means too sweet) makes me think of "great evening wear," as one used to wear to theater visits. Not "arrogant," but certainly aware of its newfound self-confidence!
What adds to it is a slightly dusty powdery note, somewhat woody, somewhat floral (iris???) and definitely just a touch wicked. Like the image of a lady in a bra, girdle, and garters in beige. A "Triumph" mannequin, as it could have been depicted on a poster from the then top company for lingerie.
A somewhat "dusty past" of a more recent date. But surely already vintage today!
