Christmas Hit - but it doesn't really hit
I smelled the fragrance for the first time in a perfumery in New York, and it initially reminded me a lot of "Elevate x Ére | Ére Studios," which was already in my collection and is one of my favorite scents for the cold season. Since it was limited, I was anyway looking for a replacement. At first glance, they are very similar, which is why I didn't hesitate long and ordered it as soon as I was home, without testing it again. The risk wasn't too high at that price.
What do you get:
First, about the bottle, which looks nice and high-quality in pictures but is poorly made and not really beautiful in reality. Basically, it's a standard bottle with a glued fabric sleeve and, in my opinion, an ugly cap.
But well, that’s not really what matters at first, because the scent is truly lovely.
It actually starts off fresh and spicy. I especially pick up the cinnamon and bergamot. After a few minutes, the latter slowly fades away, giving way to a delicious sweetness from the wine. From then on, it just smells Christmas-y through and through. However, after at most an hour, this wonderful sweetness has also disappeared, and the fragrance becomes drier. From then on, you have a mix of woods, leather, and tobacco with a very light cinnamon accent. From here on, it unfortunately becomes quite monotonous for me.
In general, the fragrance develops very quickly and, unfortunately, is already gone after just a few hours. The sillage is also not great. I had hoped for more, as the DNA is really beautiful, especially in the heart, but at that price, you probably can't expect much more.
Conclusion:
If you're looking for a budget fragrance for winter/Christmas, Burberry London might be something for you. With a bit better longevity/sillage, the fragrance could really have potential. As it is, I unfortunately don't use it too often.
