So this is how Bordeaux smells?
My first review and then also blind. This can only turn out well?
The first impression I get from the perfume is an immediate burst of a barbershop scent. For me, a barbershop scent is very fresh, citrusy, and always has something of aftershave or something "clean." I sense lemon and a bit of bergamot in there. If I had to express the perfume as an image, it would be something between a good visit to the barber and freshly washed clothes.
After about an hour, the strong citrus freshness fades and transforms into a somewhat floral, softened version of itself. The scent is no longer as "overpowering" as it was initially, but rather more pleasant. However, it doesn't smell as strongly of freshly washed laundry anymore, but more floral. I usually struggle with that. I don't detect the typical lavender note of a fougère, which is why I leave the barbershop expression standing alone. In the drydown, the scent doesn't smell particularly different; it just becomes weaker. After half a day, I have to make an effort to still perceive the scent on the strip. I didn't expect high longevity given the freshness.
Overall, the scent is a well-rounded thing. That's also what I would criticize. The perfume lacks a bit of complexity for me. It doesn't smell bad at all, but it's just not particularly special.

The Water of Bordeaux
It is not so easy to describe this fragrance. Especially since I must admit that I am not entirely objective. For some time now, my daughter has been living in Bordeaux, and for that reason alone, it is naturally a special and beautiful place for me, to which I feel connected.
Apart from that, Bordeaux is a stunning city. Therefore, I naturally wished to like it. But the scent really surprised me!

The first impression: Yes, quite nice. Subtly citrusy, somewhat neutral, it certainly won't annoy anyone. I think of dry grass, as if it hasn't rained for a few weeks in a hot summer. Slightly sweet, but not like sugar or even honey, more like a gentle sweetness; tonic water comes to mind as a "sweetness benchmark." It doesn't change much.
Buuut: There is more to it!

Surprise 1: It lasts forever! For example, I have been wearing it today for almost 13 hours and I can still smell it clearly on my arm!
Surprise 2: It is *indeed* special and you recognize it again! Already after wearing it a second time, it feels so familiar. It has quietly made its mark. I don't know any fragrance with which I could confuse it!

Conclusion: It has secretly snuck into my heart, and during my next stay in Bordeaux, I will get a larger bottle!

The citrus notes at the start were great, but the transition to floral-green doesn't sit well with me due to its hinted aquatic nature. Solid, average.

Almost a copy of "L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme," which I find much better. This one gets a bit too flat quickly.

Green, floral, and aquatic notes blend here into a unique synthesis. It has a 90s mainstream twist, yet it still impresses.
