Delightful, deep roses
Knowing that I was searching for a tobacco fragrance, a friend of mine gave me a decant after bringing back a few flasks from Thailand. The original flask is the exact same than Zoologist's.
The rose is present all throughout, always a touch sweet and overall very wonderful. The base is not muddy at all despite being ambery and comforting, and to my nose the rest of the base is slightly umami, savory & sweet. Some spices surface on the drydown; maybe it is a quality of the saffron? To me, there is a touch of cinnamon. It's very very well balanced. Like most of Butterfly's creations, it smells real and full without being overbearing.
The projection lasted around four hours on me... Four hours of gentle sweetness...
The main issue I have with Butterfly perfumes is how imposible they are to get outside of Thailand. At a cost of ~1400฿ for 60mL, they are relatively affordable for Westerners on holiday, but it isn't really feasable to have them shipped outside of Thailand, especially for anyone not living in south-eastern Asia. Very sad, but it makes one appreciate the scent even more.
