Mango Sticky Rice Butterfly Thai Perfume

The opening is a prominent mango note, probably one of the strongest mango notes I've smelled, and that says something considering my skin likes to "eat" the mango notes :D Coconut was also noticeable but is not annoyingly "coconutty", it was creamy and roasted. As the scent dried, coconut and mango stepped back a bit and finally let the "rice" part of the perfume show itself. It's truly a very good mango sticky rice scent, fruity, nutty, and creamy! I am not disappointed one bit.

I love eating Mango sticky rice and this perfume actually does smell like the sticky rice soaked in coconut milk that comes with this dessert. I don't smell much mango or anything else, it is mainly coconut and rice, not very sweet or fruity. Instead, it is very creamy and non synthetic, but also linear, and I am not sure if I want to smell like realistic, dense, coconut sticky rice. The scent misses some notes to balance it out and make it feel more like a perfume.

This is not a bad fragrance by any stretch of the imagination. It is actually quite pleasant and a extremely great photorealistic smell of mango sticky rice. But that is simply the problem.

The scent is incredibly linear, it smells the same all throughout with that sweet and creamy coconut scent that is backed by a juicy and strong mango scent. It is not synthetic at all which makes it great. However, I do find that this tends to get a bit headache inducing due to it being extremely cloying if overapplied.

It's a scent that smells good, is extremely smooth and photorealistic, but I wouldn't want to smell like mango sticky rice while giving me a headache unfortunately.

I recently had a friend that was visiting Thailand blind buy a bottle for me, and I'm so glad that I love it! The opening is frangrant, juicy mango. As it dries down you get more of the creamy coconut and vanilla. I can't stop sniffing myself when I wear it, so delicious. I also recently sample Mango Sticky Rice by d'Annam, but I think Thai Butterfly's version is better. It stays more of a linear gourmand, where d'Annam's dries down into floral that I wasn't a big fan of.

What can one possibly write about this scent? Mango Sticky Rice smells exactly as it is named. Beautifully reminiscent of warm, cooked sticky rice with a sweet, exotic hint of mango. Plus, a good splash of coconut milk. And if you bring your nose a little closer to the sprayed area, you can also detect a hint of vanilla.

It is striking that the scent radiates extremely strong and intense from the spray head, but quickly fades after application. What remains after a short time is a mélange of saffron and benzoin.

Everything feels very natural and gourmand, but for my taste, it could have been a good bit more intense in the dry down.

For a little hunger for exotic dishes, it's fine - for a bigger appetite, one should keep reapplying for a top-up. And those who shy away from gourmand scents should steer clear of Mango Sticky Rice.
