Le Gemme - Ashlemah Bvlgari 2014

During the eagerly anticipated testing as part of a traveling package, this sample (just like the wonderfully beautiful bottle) immediately appealed to me visually because of the purple "gemstone" - and the same goes for the scent.
It is a multifaceted, balanced iris fragrance that will surely please many who enjoy such scents with its many facets.
In the top notes, both an ethereal, slightly herbal lavender and a zesty fruit juice note, caramel, powdery iris, and already the warm musk note emerge. It sounds like a lot at once, and it is, but it harmonizes beautifully. I have somewhat simplified the harmony between lavender and gourmand notes (in this case tonka bean) in "Twilight" by Lush.
I used to think that lavender was rather difficult to incorporate into a fragrance because of its distinct (though wonderful on its own) note... I only found a few fresh-spicy men's fragrances where this worked.
Here, however, one can tell that the different lavender notes (herbal, ethereal, caramel, warm, floral) have a "common denominator" with the notes of this fragrance (iris, gourmand notes, musk) and are further developed through them.
This iris fragrance does have a somewhat "snobbish," noble, doll-like facet, but due to the pleasant and warm musk notes, it becomes inviting overall.
On the other hand, the powdery note evokes associations with delicate baby powder; I would describe the colors of the fragrance as white to satin purple.
An iris-powder-tonka-gourmand gemstone that I will probably acquire in the summer in Nice at Galeries Lafayette, should I not manage to get a decant by then!
...the traveling package has thus found a victim :D
