Gypsy Water Byredo 2008 Eau de Parfum

To my nose, the fragrance starts very unspectacularly. Freshly sprayed on, I only smell alcohol, but juniper quickly takes over. At first, Gypsy Water is very tart, but just a few minutes later I go on a wonderful mental walk that takes me into a coniferous forest at dusk. I only notice the iris in passing, and when I return from my walk in the forest, frozen and sitting in my warm room, I light my teapot and place some incense on the grate. The evening ends with resinous, woody fragrances, and this scent develops in the same way. It quickly gains depth, and I can still smell the incense hours later, albeit very close to my skin. I can also smell a hint of sandalwood in the background. For me, Gypsy Water develops very surprisingly but also very beautifully.
