Vanille Antique Byredo 2022

Vanille Antique captivated me not only with its beautiful and dreamy name but also with its scent elements. I first got a sample to test it thoroughly. After several disappointments, I have refrained from blind purchases.
VA comes with a very pleasant and warm embrace. For me, the first notes that are immediately noticeable are amber and vanilla. The vanilla is not intrusive or artificial. The warmth of amber. In the drydown, I smelled plum and vanilla in interplay. It is a subtle scent that is not loud and does not want to be. The fragrance was perceptible to me for up to 8 hours. Towards the end, it became woody and the vanilla disappeared. However, the warmth and slight sweetness remained in the scent.
So much for the scents. When I apply VA, it takes me on a journey. A journey into the past. More precisely, to the Silk Road. Arriving at many junctions, I smell the entire spice world of the Near East and Asia. I let myself be carried away by the many different merchants and their goods. Eyes closed and nostrils flared, so as not to miss any nuance. I sit by the roadside and enjoy my mint tea.
