Another winner from the 2nd greatest decade ever!
I was really excited when I ordered this fragrance. I knew it was going to be great and I was correct. Tom Selleck leaning up against his sportscar wearing a cowboy hat in a black tuxedo says it all. You would NEVER see that today because to be a manly man is to be a misogynist and a chauvinist. I am embarrassed at the state of affairs in our neutered down society and the current fragrances reflect that. Not all not all not all but most. That's why i search up and down for the beautiful masculine strong OAKMOSSY scents of the 1970s and 80s. Vintage Chaz has been added to my grooming arsenal and it's wonderful. A boozy manly aromatic fougere that harkens back to a time when things were very different. Fragrances were simply made better, made with more care WITHOUT THESE STUPID DRACONIAN RESTRICTIONS THAT HAVE JUST ABOUT DESTROYED MODERN MAINSTREAM PERFUMERIE! SHAME ON THEM. Thank the GOOD LORD for sites like Ebay, ETSY, and Mercari. At least i still have a shot at acquiring great long lasting statement making olfactory pleasing memory reminisceing awesome quality MASCULINE FRAGRANCES!!!!

Unknown Vintage Fragrances Vol. XXXIX
My first Revlon. Interesting brand by the way, which was launched in the 60s with some fragrances and then apparently tried to follow up unsuccessfully a few decades later. "Chaz" seems to be the flagship, as indicated by the numerous flankers that were to follow.

In U.S. forums, it is generally rated positively to enthusiastically. Well, Americans do tend to prefer the opulent, and given the year of release, the blind purchase of an OF was a done deal for me.

So what does it offer, the good one? "Chaz" is clearly a child of its time. Multi-layered, quite opulent, and of course it comes across as self-assured, but not arrogant. Not a powerhouse in the classical sense, longevity and sillage are rather moderate for its era. Fruity opening, characterized by bergamot. The heart note is passed through quite quickly, leading to a soft, mossy finish. Throughout, there is always a pleasantly subtle, but definitely present and above all absolutely unsynthetic sweetness,

All in all, a solid and well-deserved 90%.

Total 70s nuclear bomb of a scent with good longevity. Of course i have the original 1975 version from Revlon. Forget the current piss water

Ah, what memories, down memory lane! This was my very first perfume I bought when I was a teenager. So fougère, spicy, sweet and aromatic!

The scent of Magnum. Typical great stuff: rosemary, bay leaf on a sweet base. Perfect for driving with the top down in a red Ferrari! Mustache!

For me, it's more of a subtle vintage chypre than a fougère. With citrus, rose geranium, moss, and cedar - unsweetened, smoky, and discreet. Recommended!

Starts citrus-bright and then becomes floral-soapy. The scent gets greener, the soap remains present. Very close to the skin, but good!
