Great German recipe
I cannot remember when or how I got this. It has been in my collection for some years, and since I have not seen any use in writing down, when I have purchased my many gems, I have no idea how old this is. But it smells really good.
As far as I have been able to find out, Caren Pfleger was a German designer and model, and she has apparently had time to make eight fragrances. I only own this, which was released in 1984. It is quite elegant and with a lovely lady vibe, and even though it has ten flowers listed in the heart, it is not that floral. On my skin it sends out a lot of wood and musk as well, which makes it really nice - a bit soapy/animalic, as a matter of fact. It may be due to age, but nevertheless it is just good. Fresh but heavy at the same time.
It lasts quite a while on my skin, more than six hours.
The bottle is almost minimalistic; nice and heavy.
Do try it, if you get the chance.

Powdery Scent for Chypre Fans
I hadn't read much about this fragrance, so purchasing this perfume was essentially a blind buy.
It's always helpful to approach a scent with as few expectations as possible, and in this case, it was absolutely worth it.
Right from the top note, I was rewarded for my adventurous spirit: It is VERY similar to the top note of the legendary Chypre Scherrer 1 - my knees slightly buckled, and my eyes closed as I inhaled this green-resinous sparkling firework that sets a first exclamation mark. Any dedicated Chypre fan is likely to be enchanted here.

After establishing this rugged, structurally defining tension arc, which remains intact well into the heart note, CP takes a completely different turn than Scherrer 1.
The tension-rich supporting structure now begins to be infiltrated by subtle, but unmistakable
players of the moist-cool colorful flower variety. Their innate exuberance is kept in check by fine, rich powder. The heart note does not flood into the olfactory perception but presents itself introverted; and one really has to immerse oneself in it to grasp its complex, delicate beauty.
I am not generally a big fan of powdery lady scents, which tend to be sweetly composed and lack refreshing contrasts. Yet the bright-powdery heart note of CP is, on one hand, irresistibly feminine and flowing, while at the same time, this femininity signals against the cool, green-resinous background:
I flow, but I do not flow away. I stay with myself!

By this point, 4-5 hours have already passed, and the scent remains close to the skin, still very present.
Gradually, cool-mossy sandalwood and cedarwood notes emerge, softly ambient and thus very well suited to the powdery-light floral aspect of the heart note. The appearance of the base notes is initially subtle and fine. Soon, unmistakable lasting power joins in, whose echo resonates for a long time. Now it is the fragrance that demands my attention, deep, sensual, and exceptionally captivating.

Disappeared into Oblivion.

From Caren Pfleger, whose fragrance I sold in the 80s, I only knew back then that she was a former model and designer. Her image was somewhat comparable to Jil Sander for us. At some point, both the fragrance and her brand more or less disappeared into oblivion. The only thing that comes to mind with her name is the gray packaging with the pink lettering of her name.

The fragrance Caren Pfleger was a companion for sporty-elegant fashion. Not extraordinary, but certainly of good quality. Perhaps it could be compared to Eternity. However, the top note is more citrusy. Thanks to Lilith, I can celebrate a re-sniff today.
As a description, I would say floral-green with a citrus-fruity top note. Even in the base, the fragrance remains rather cool, and I would suspect musk and cedar rather than amber and sandalwood.

I used to enjoy wearing Caren Pfleger in everyday life. For special occasions, I would rather reach for Volupte by Oscar de la Renta or Gem by Van Cleef & Arpels. But I can still see the fragrance shelf in the private perfumery in front of me, where the scents stood. I don’t encounter any of the three fragrances in stores today, so I was pleased to be able to test Caren Pfleger once again.

Edit 17.2.2019
I wrote this comment during my early days on Parfumo. The fragrance was not listed back then, and so my text ended up with a wrong Caren Pfleger fragrance. I have corrected that here.

A forgotten child of the late 1980s …
… is this relatively light, fresh fragrance for its time.

I have had it sitting in my drawer for a long time. Now and then, I sniff the bottle, but then I find a scent that fits my intentions even better. And I believe that is the crux of this perfume, or rather Eau de Toilette. It is nice. Pleasant. Unobtrusive. Friendly. But simply not pointed enough.

Caren Pfleger's first fragrance composition was intended for the businesswoman and surely harmonized perfectly with the fashion she designed for the modern woman at that time. Elegant. Stylish. Understated. Wearable chic.

At the beginning, a white floral blend captivates, which surely includes a touch of neroli, but otherwise remains nonspecific, perhaps with a hint of citrus or grass - all put together into a friendly bouquet. Later, the soft, sweet notes of the flowers become more pronounced, leaving a warm, mild-floral, and gently wood-spiced shimmer on the skin.

The sillage is rather low - especially when considering the era that produced such powerful and overwhelmingly assertive fragrances like Poison, Lou Lou, and Opium - but this makes it very suitable for everyday wear.

However, it seems that many women felt the same way as I did. In search of a fragrance that fits the mood and occasion, I often found another composition that suited better. And so, Super by Caren Pfleger is evidently no longer produced by Coty.

But for those who want to cycle through the greenery on a sunny day, plan a picnic by the river, or are still unsure in the morning whether the energy will last for the after-work party and have Super by Caren Pfleger at home, they should still give the fragrance a chance. It is quite a pleasant companion.

Was elegant and a bit herbal, well-groomed, somewhat unobtrusive. Similar to Eternity, but woodier in the base.

A fragrance, beautiful and classic, like its namesake: white flowers don't bite; friendly jasmine, not stinky: an enchanted evening!
