A Sympathetic Vladimir
The Vladimir that comes to mind with this fragrance is a very sympathetic one.

From Vladimir Horowitz, the gifted concert pianist who still delighted concert halls with wit and virtuosity as a shaky old man, two things have been passed down to me.

First, the quote "Who iiibt, has neetig."

This was, of course, a cheeky flirtation, as if he didn't have "neetig." I find it very likely that he didn't just run through boring finger exercises but played "real" pieces to keep his long fingers agile. He didn't practice; he played. A fine distinction.

Secondly, the resurrection in the middle of a concert.

When Horowitz returned to the concert stage after many years of absence, the audience was delighted. The experts were pleased as well, but even more, they were curious about how well the maestro would still perform.

The orchestra began, the piano had a break, only to then enter with 3 chords, actually just 3 notes.

The entry came - and Horowitz flubbed it.

Completely. Totally. Utterly.

So much so that everyone heard it. A shock.

He then somehow muddled through the first movement but surprisingly regained his composure and delivered a second movement that brought tears of gratitude to the audience's eyes.

I like to think of this Vladimir when I experience this fragrance.

The first tasting overwhelmed me.

The second sniff revealed a creamy-woody symphony that winds through southern citrus and cedar groves. The wind continually brings new aromas of wild herbs and resins.
The journey does not become boring over hours.

Vladimir - I congratulate you
First of all, I congratulate you on your both unique and successful mother Carine Roitfeld, who has worked as a model, stylist, style icon, and later as the editor-in-chief of French Vogue, and is now publishing her own fashion magazine.

Secondly, because your mother dedicated a perfume to you with her own elegant fragrance label, which has been extraordinarily well crafted. In my opinion, it is even the best in the collection.

It impresses with a wonderfully rich opening full of olfactory impressions. At first, a few dark splashes of grapefruit and bergamot are noticeable - at times one might perceive a hint of forest honey, before it moves more towards incense paired with sage, a generous dose of powdery iris, warming amber, and cedarwood.

I have no idea what your mother conveyed to the perfumer Pascal Gaurin, but she might have told him to create a masculine woody-green-smoky-creamy aura. Not for everyone and every day - and thus all the more mysterious.

Additionally, it is quite long-lasting, projecting well, and comes in a hand- and eye-pleasing bottle. What more could one want?

I would burst with pride if a fragrance were named after me. As already mentioned: my congratulations!

The Seventh Lover
Anyone expecting a tale from my past love life or an erotically charged fantasy in lyrical form will be disappointed.
Neither do I have the desire to make delicate experiences public, nor has the muse kissed me in such a way that it would suffice for literary talent. So, I can only provide a subjective description of my scent impressions.

Carine Roitfeld has made a name for herself as a stylist, model, and editor-in-chief of French Vogue. She invented the concept of erotic-porn chic.
Since 2019, she has had her own perfume brand.

Of the seven fragrances named after male first names, I have now been able to test five and found my personal, scent-embodied lover in Vladimir.

So far, all the tested fragrances from the brand have been wearable, classic, but also with a certain twist. Vladimir is no exception.

The listed fragrance notes make sense and are perceptible in the scent. However, none of the notes stands out dominantly.

At first, the citrus notes come into play briefly before sage contributes a well-balanced, bitter-spicy note that it maintains subtly throughout the progression.

Iris adds a softly powdery hint, and the incense provides a bright, delicately smoky whisper.

In the dry down, the scent becomes slightly sweeter but does not completely overshadow the heart note.

The sillage is rather restrained, and the longevity is very good for me. The scent remains perceptible on my skin for an entire day.

Finally, I would like to say something about the rating.

I certainly have more unusual fragrances in my collection that I have rated lower. And surely, some may not understand my rating (as is usually the case).
Vladimir falls into the category for me: always wearable but still not too pleasing. I feel completely comfortable with it, and that’s what matters in the end.

Vladi can't find his style.
Iris-heavy powder with too strong sage?
Amber with smoky resin?
Young, citrus synthetic doesn't help.*

Vladimir is a great guy. Iris blooms, wafts of incense, a bit of sweetness, and a touch of masculine strength come together here. Attractive!

Frankincense and iris define this rather serious scent. Sage adds a subtly bitter note, while amber brings a resinous sweetness.
