High-Quality Rose Cream with Potential to Become a Staple
I came across Carita in my search for "the" rose fragrances. I love rose in any form and have since childhood.
First, some thoughts on Carita: gentle, yet expressive - romantic, not naive - light pink roses, not too sweet.
Now to the scent, Carita starts with a plump bud just about to bloom, nestled on a pot of the highest quality body butter. As Florblanca has already described the scent, you can watch the rose unfold. From the green leaves to the scent of the "matured" rose. There is a balance between romantic lightness and serious artistry. Carita is, on one hand, the understatement of the 1920s, ladies with short haircuts and striking black-rimmed eyes, and on the other hand, the free spirit of the 1960s, the joy of life. However, it always remains art.
Moving on to the scent. I don't perceive heliotrope directly, but it gives the fragrance depth and longevity, and I think it also contributes to the velvety impression the scent conveys. The rose is a light fuchsia to dark fuchsia color. The musk provides a soft impression; I think lighter musk has been used here, and the vanilla adds a slight sweetness, although you can't pinpoint it as a direct component.
The base is beautifully soft, rose-butter-fluffy.
All in all, a very rose-heavy, skinny scent. I find it particularly erotic due to the effect it has on me. Not in a overtly masculine way, but very subtle.
The bottle is beautiful, the milky lilac glass with the pump spray and the black bow appeals to me very much. The pump spray could spray a bit better, but I refill the scent into a travel spray anyway.
The longevity is also very good; it lasts well through an 8-hour workday. However, I find it so good that I need to refresh it in between. Addiction potential.
I can't deny the comparison to L'instant Magic, but L'instant Magic has a somewhat bitter-cool and piercing quality for me.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this scent to anyone who enjoys rose fragrances, and even those who are not convinced rose lovers will surely appreciate it for the impression of a high-quality rose butter. My first bottle will certainly not be my last.
