ugly for the sake of ugliness?

A few seconds of grapefruit leads to a stench of burnt copy paper. Distant cousin of Comme des Garcons' Odeur 71 with all of the oddity, none of the charm. I'm not sure what this is supposed to communicate, or how it is to be enjoyed, but, half an hour after applying, I'm done with it and must scrub. Also, what's with the typeface on the bottle? Is its ugliness meant to warn us of the ugly contents within?

HA, Cryptic! Very good point. This is the only Carlen sample I ordered from Twisted Lily, and it hardly inspires me to order any others. I've scrubbed & sprayed MH Fleurs de Sel over it and Royall Mandarin twice, and it ate through both. It's both ugly and aggressive. Maybe you should bravely try MoB and report back? :)

I thought the Aztecs worshiped the sun, which makes the Noir tag a mystery. Aztec Noir: The underbelly of ancient Mesoamerica, maybe. ;) If you're sampling the entire line, please review Men Of Blame. I'm just dying to know what that's about.
