.. unfortunately, I only know a newer version, which isn't that special.. Caron has unfortunately messed up quite a few things in the reformulation.

So true! I have Nocturnes in its original formulation. A few years ago, you could still get it at somewhat reasonable prices. I think the Caron perfumes have suffered the same fate as those from Guerlain. I love Chamade in all its variations. But what they've done to this perfume is a scandal! I've stocked up well here, so I can still enjoy the original for many years to come.
