I don't know if the creators of Carthusia are familiar with the old German hit about "Die Capri Fischer" (written in 1943 by Ralph Maria Siegel, the father of the Grand-Prix Siegel), which goes:
Bella Marie, never forget me.
In this song, a fisherman asks his beloved not to forget him when he sails out to sea at night.
It would be quite a charming coincidence to launch a fragrance conceived as a memory and tribute to Capri of the late 60s with the words: "forget me not."
Let’s hope that Marie remained faithful to her sweetheart and always thought of him; I certainly won’t forget Capri Forget Me Not.
The matter of fidelity will be revealed in the coming years...
This fragrance shines. From the very beginning, it is bright, clear, and friendly.
I would never have expected such a light-hearted scent (in the best sense of the word) when looking at the fragrance pyramid. Deliberately, I leave the listed ingredients aside, as I cannot filter out any single one; the impression is so homogeneous.
Delicate freshness and unsweet sweetness, never slipping into the synthetic, characterize a linear progression. Even after hours, it remains distinctly perceptible, yet still light and ethereal, delighting with each breath anew.
And as if enough hasn’t already been written about Capri, I would like to point out the big fragrance brother "Soleil de Capri" by Montale, which, although significantly louder, knows how to play a similar melody.
