Ciao, Bella!
Jessica, a Facebook friend, spent two weeks of vacation at the Amalfi Coast at the end of summer and generously provided us with great photos and detailed descriptions of her activities and impressions.
This way, I could also experience this wonderful trip without having to push through the narrow, crowded streets of Portofino and having to tend to my aching little feet by the afternoon. (They were already whining just from looking at the pictures.)
I also enjoyed delightful meals without - how nice! - immediately gaining weight!
And of course, this trip also led to Capri and just as naturally (after all, I met Jessica in the "Eau my Soul" community) to Carthusia.
Informative and beautiful photos from outside and inside the store hinted at sensual enjoyment. I almost want to say: these pictures smelled good!

For me, the fragrances I know from Carthusia symbolize Italian charm; the magic of a southern summer day.
Floral and elegant, expressive yet not intrusive; these fragrances are beautiful and wearable without being spectacular.

"Capri forget me not" joins the ranks; only the scent is less floral, rather fresh and spicy.
Not bright sunny summer yellow, but with pretty green and delicate colorful dots!
The entrance resembles a citrus grove, where citrus freshness and the sweetness of ripe fruits stand harmoniously side by side. A little lime stands out - how could it be otherwise in this region!
Instead of the usual floral heart, "Capri forget me not" relies on spicy herbs: eucalyptus leads the way. At first, it's a bit surprising: this nuance feels foreign.
But the accompanying fragrance notes, especially mint and the not-so-humble violet, then bring the senses back into unclouded summer mood.
In this, we reach a floral and fruity aromatic space; it’s a walk through a southern garden.
Jasmine and hyacinth carry the previous fragrance weave richly and proudly; peach and warm, creamy white vanilla complete this fragrance creation: without pomp and pathos, but skillfully and tastefully.

Thus, Carthusia's "Capri forget me not" is a fresh-spicy companion for the day.
It signals: "I am here!" without being annoying or striving to be in the foreground.
Besides, it is too light anyway - noble-Italian!
Not: "Avanti! Avanti!", but "Piano" and "con calma"!

I will set aside this interesting, because completely different summer scent for the upcoming season. Luckily, I received a generous sample, so that when I want to, I can look at Jessica's photos with a few drops of "Capri forget me not" a little wistfully.
And thus embark on a nostalgic journey of thoughts: I will have the necessary companions by my side.
Until then, it’s: "Capri, non dimenticarmi!"

Just don't forget...
My first Carthusia. Well, actually that's not entirely true, as I had sprayed this and that in perfumeries before, but since I only sniffed them "on the side," I can hardly remember how they were.

I actually discovered this scent here by chance, once again in search of fresh summer fragrances. From the bottle and especially the "ingredients," it sounds great (hmm... delicious, figs, mandarins, eucalyptus...). I don't really think the scent could be bad; at most, it could just be "good," like so many other fresh scents.

Well, let's see...

The scent:
The beginning is a citrus mix; it's hard to distinguish whether you're smelling lemon, lime, mandarin, or some other citrus. For a brief moment, you even get the feeling of smelling something coriander-like, which brings the scent down quite a bit, but fortunately, this impression disappears in the next minute. Still, there are some scents that I can't quite place. There seem to be light, green notes in the background, as well as floral scents (though the greenish notes also quickly fade away).
And what is buchu?? Something that cries, so buhuuu :( ?? No, these are actually rutaceae like lemon, etc., aha, hence the many citrus notes... I'm also not so sure about the eucalyptus; I only know this note from Body Kouros, but yes, the scent does come to mind a bit. So eucalyptus is present, and yes, it even becomes a bit stronger as the scent develops. Figs, which I always look forward to like crazy, I couldn't perceive AT ALL, buchuuu... uh, I meant of course buhuuuu :(
Gradually, the scent settles down; it's no longer so wildly mixed. So, it's still citrusy, though not incredibly bright and particularly mouth-wateringly sour, but the citrus notes are still there. In the background, it's lightly floral sweet; this should be the violets. Otherwise, there's a strange, herbal scent that I can't quite place. And I could swear that I detect a hint of tobacco (but only if you really press your nose against the sprayed spot).
Now and then, the scent even feels classic; sometimes, however, it also feels like what some here would call "cloister stone" (though the latter occurs only rarely).
Later, after the citrus notes weaken even more, the scent takes on a certain warm character due to the light sweet notes, which is pleasant.

The longevity and sillage:
The longevity is quite okay; depending on the dosage, it could last six to eight hours.
The projection is quite good at the beginning due to the many citrus notes, but the scent cannot maintain this level. Because already within the next 10 minutes, the projection noticeably drops and can only be perceived from up close in the further development.

The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular with thick glass edges. It has no label; instead, the name of the scent is printed directly on the front. The word "Capri" is written in a flowing style and looks nice. The polygonal and transparent cap fits well with the bottle and looks like a gemstone. A beautiful bottle.

Well, what can I say, the scent is not bad, but somehow also special, so it might not appeal to everyone. Yes, it is citrusy and thus good for spring and summer, but as described, it has many scent notes, so the fragrance goes through quite a bit of development. Additionally, there’s the occasionally flashing, cloister stone-like note, which is not everyone's "thing."

I personally didn't find the scent bad, but I had hoped for something better, so I'm a little disappointed. In any case, it's more of a daytime scent; for going out, it simply becomes a bit too weak too quickly.

Hmm yes,... it seems that my search for some good summer scents will continue. Although I really liked Rhubarbe by Hermès, Acqua Decima by Eau d’Italie, and Menthe Fraîche by Heeley, let's see, let's see... on really hot days, Dior Homme Cologne (from 2013) is also not to be underestimated!

But, this Carthusia is worth a try!

When the Golden Sun Shines Over Capri
I don't know if the creators of Carthusia are familiar with the old German hit about "Die Capri Fischer" (written in 1943 by Ralph Maria Siegel, the father of the Grand-Prix Siegel), which goes:
Bella Marie, never forget me.
In this song, a fisherman asks his beloved not to forget him when he sails out to sea at night.
It would be quite a charming coincidence to launch a fragrance conceived as a memory and tribute to Capri of the late 60s with the words: "forget me not."

Let’s hope that Marie remained faithful to her sweetheart and always thought of him; I certainly won’t forget Capri Forget Me Not.
The matter of fidelity will be revealed in the coming years...

This fragrance shines. From the very beginning, it is bright, clear, and friendly.
I would never have expected such a light-hearted scent (in the best sense of the word) when looking at the fragrance pyramid. Deliberately, I leave the listed ingredients aside, as I cannot filter out any single one; the impression is so homogeneous.
Delicate freshness and unsweet sweetness, never slipping into the synthetic, characterize a linear progression. Even after hours, it remains distinctly perceptible, yet still light and ethereal, delighting with each breath anew.

And as if enough hasn’t already been written about Capri, I would like to point out the big fragrance brother "Soleil de Capri" by Montale, which, although significantly louder, knows how to play a similar melody.

Different from the rest
Without expectations and without knowing how fig smells, I stumbled upon this fragrance. Notes aside. It is fresh. It is interesting. It is erotic but not sweet. Neither bitter nor floral. What is it? No matter, it is mine.

No, I definitely won't forget you!
First, I spray the fragrance on.....and feel a coolness on my skin. It refreshes me in the morning. A blend of fig, mint, and hesperidic notes flows into my nose.....The citrus elements fade quickly.. And a refreshingly cool scent of mint and figs remains on the skin. I can't detect the other fragrance notes. The scent is mouthwatering....but not sweet at all. Very natural fragrance, without synthetic undertones. I am in love!

Capri Forget ME NOT accompanies me all day and can still be sniffed by my husband in the evening ;-). After a few hours, the vanilla comes out a bit, but mint and fig remain at the center.

Anyone who likes fresh, fruity, unsweetened scents should give it a try. I jumped at the chance and bought the fragrance right away.

If you like fig, more green than sweet, a bit powdery, fruity, and floral, you'll be happy here. Eucalyptus adds a kick.

Typical Laura Tonatto fig, framed with green freshness. Mint, lime. Pleasant and summery. A preference for fig is of course a must.

Fig tree by the window, hyacinths blooming. Sweet, juicy peaches in a bowl, bunches of herbs hanging to dry from the beams.

Harmonious freshness kick with citrus notes, mint + eucalyptus. Velvety fig, green + accompanied by flowers. In the dry down, vanilla-creamy. Great!

Beautiful summery citrus-green summer scent with a lot of fig, reminiscent of Fico di Amalfi. Soothing & refreshing with eucalyptus-mint.
