Just don't forget...

My first Carthusia. Well, actually that's not entirely true, as I had sprayed this and that in perfumeries before, but since I only sniffed them "on the side," I can hardly remember how they were.

I actually discovered this scent here by chance, once again in search of fresh summer fragrances. From the bottle and especially the "ingredients," it sounds great (hmm... delicious, figs, mandarins, eucalyptus...). I don't really think the scent could be bad; at most, it could just be "good," like so many other fresh scents.

Well, let's see...

The scent:
The beginning is a citrus mix; it's hard to distinguish whether you're smelling lemon, lime, mandarin, or some other citrus. For a brief moment, you even get the feeling of smelling something coriander-like, which brings the scent down quite a bit, but fortunately, this impression disappears in the next minute. Still, there are some scents that I can't quite place. There seem to be light, green notes in the background, as well as floral scents (though the greenish notes also quickly fade away).
And what is buchu?? Something that cries, so buhuuu :( ?? No, these are actually rutaceae like lemon, etc., aha, hence the many citrus notes... I'm also not so sure about the eucalyptus; I only know this note from Body Kouros, but yes, the scent does come to mind a bit. So eucalyptus is present, and yes, it even becomes a bit stronger as the scent develops. Figs, which I always look forward to like crazy, I couldn't perceive AT ALL, buchuuu... uh, I meant of course buhuuuu :(
Gradually, the scent settles down; it's no longer so wildly mixed. So, it's still citrusy, though not incredibly bright and particularly mouth-wateringly sour, but the citrus notes are still there. In the background, it's lightly floral sweet; this should be the violets. Otherwise, there's a strange, herbal scent that I can't quite place. And I could swear that I detect a hint of tobacco (but only if you really press your nose against the sprayed spot).
Now and then, the scent even feels classic; sometimes, however, it also feels like what some here would call "cloister stone" (though the latter occurs only rarely).
Later, after the citrus notes weaken even more, the scent takes on a certain warm character due to the light sweet notes, which is pleasant.

The longevity and sillage:
The longevity is quite okay; depending on the dosage, it could last six to eight hours.
The projection is quite good at the beginning due to the many citrus notes, but the scent cannot maintain this level. Because already within the next 10 minutes, the projection noticeably drops and can only be perceived from up close in the further development.

The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular with thick glass edges. It has no label; instead, the name of the scent is printed directly on the front. The word "Capri" is written in a flowing style and looks nice. The polygonal and transparent cap fits well with the bottle and looks like a gemstone. A beautiful bottle.

Well, what can I say, the scent is not bad, but somehow also special, so it might not appeal to everyone. Yes, it is citrusy and thus good for spring and summer, but as described, it has many scent notes, so the fragrance goes through quite a bit of development. Additionally, there’s the occasionally flashing, cloister stone-like note, which is not everyone's "thing."

I personally didn't find the scent bad, but I had hoped for something better, so I'm a little disappointed. In any case, it's more of a daytime scent; for going out, it simply becomes a bit too weak too quickly.

Hmm yes,... it seems that my search for some good summer scents will continue. Although I really liked Rhubarbe by Hermès, Acqua Decima by Eau d’Italie, and Menthe Fraîche by Heeley, let's see, let's see... on really hot days, Dior Homme Cologne (from 2013) is also not to be underestimated!

But, this Carthusia is worth a try!

Well written. Your description helped me picture the scent. As a reward, here's a little trophy 😉
I’m looking forward to reading more from you next time!

Yes, that's really how it is. I find it hard to describe. But you captured it well.

You're right, it is a bit unique - I really liked it, and its striking mint note makes it a lovely summer fragrance.
