Deneuve Catherine Deneuve 1986 Eau de Toilette

She sits relaxed in her armchair, in a coarsely knitted white sweater with a plait pattern; the unavoidable cigarette in her hand: Catherine Deneuve, who does justice to the title "Madame" in all its facets.
A relaxed, self-confident woman who gives an interview on the occasion of her visit to the "Berlinale 2020", which fills a whole page of my Sunday newspaper and is very worth reading.
To Dieter Kosslick's great delight, it came this year; it is his last "Berlinale" in an official capacity.
I will miss him with his lively cordiality, his loving embraces, which he gives to people; quick and speaking a lot. In this he resembles Karl Lagerfeld.
Both often leave me breathless; and yet what they say is entertaining and interesting!
So in this fragrance homage a small place is taken by Dieter Kosslick:

All this can be read elsewhere; I don't need to repeat it.
But then why was I surprised that there is also a fragrance with the name of this fascinating woman?
When I visited Susan's perfume collection, I was so "highly interested" that she sent me a miniature of the eau de toilette.
(Perhaps I do resemble my great-grandmother more than I thought, who admired "the beautiful fruit" at every garden gate until she got some. How embarrassing!)

The flacon of this miniature resembles that of the perfume: straight lines immediately betray style!
Its content is a child of its time: shimmering, pulsating, feminine - remarkable!
This is mainly due to the aldehydes: as is their nature, they glisten, flicker and shine, opening the door for an amazingly fruity and herbal entrée.
Galbanum and basil show their extraordinary class here; neroli surprises with its well-known tenderness.
This is a suitable introduction for the flower garden that follows. Because an intoxicatingly opulent abundance of flowers caresses every woman:
Hyacinth, violet and lily of the valley embody the fragrant spring; jasmine, the royal rose and the proud iris announce the summer, and ylang-ylang embraces them all with its tendril arms studded with pretty yellow flowers.
There is plenty of room for flowery "Fairy Tales".
Of course, a fragrance of this class woman also includes a classic finish:
From oak moss to cedar wood, all fragrances leave their exact footprint.
Even the little animal, which always smells a bit dirty, snakes very closely past everything that has gathered here; leaving behind an interesting scent trail that says: "I was here too!"

Durability and silage, even in the case of eau de toilette, are the same as those of the fragrance from which it was born: it would be a pity if all this beauty were only light and fleeting!
But this concern need not exist here: "Deneuve" accompanies you for hours; proud and a bit unapproachable, in stylish elegance.
It's a fragrance that doesn't jump up and down your throat: a little distance is sometimes very pleasant!

Susan first had concerns that there was probably too little in the small flacon; not enough for a judgement and a comment.
But don't worry, dear Susan: Even after the bottle became more familiar with my rug and the cap fell off, there is still enough of the beauty of the fragrance to allow me to spend many more hours together with this charming, charismatic lady!
