Platinum Égoiste by Chanel - old love never rusts or "so fresh & so clean"

…because love has no chance of rusting here!

Platinum is a precious metal that impresses with its outstanding corrosion resistance and has always evaded any attempts at rust or melting. Against all odds, so to speak - valuable, mysterious, gray-white, and absolutely robust. This makes Platinum Égoïste Eau de Toilette a timeless classic in men's fragrance that cannot be easily disturbed.

It comes across strikingly clear and knows exactly what it wants. It opens incredibly fresh, citrusy, and slightly floral/green. Almost metallic, thus living up to its name.

Later, Platinum Égoïste Eau de Toilette becomes woodier and spicier with the use of vetiver and galbanum. The oak moss also becomes more prominent over time, and the fougère accord can be detected.

But one thing remains consistent: fresh and clear, like its color and perhaps a bit sexy... Or as Outkast would say in their song: “Don’t you think I’m so sexy, I’m just so fresh, so clean - so fresh and so clean!”

But where does my old love for Platinum Égoïste come from?
During my studies, it must have been 2010, my then-flatmate and good buddy - greetings to you, Chris! - captivated me with "Platinum Égoïste (Eau de Toilette) | Chanel." “Dude, the scent is absolutely insane and the girls totally love it!” Chris is from Baden

And so it happened that we regularly doused ourselves with "Platinum Égoïste (Eau de Toilette) | Chanel." Later, my first own bottle (which was incredibly expensive for me back then) joined the collection, and compliments started pouring in. Ah yes, good ol' memories…

That’s why this old love initially found a regular spot in my bathroom cabinet and has since become an indispensable part of my perfume collection in my perfume cabinet.

The longevity is absolutely good for a freshie, though the sillage could be a bit stronger. But all of this does not diminish my (old) love for "Platinum Égoïste (Eau de Toilette) | Chanel." Because it was, is, and will always be a wonderful and special fragrance!

In this sense:
Thank you very much for your attention - I have the honor,
your Pfleddinho

Beautiful scent, but unfortunately the current version (Batch 2023) is quite weak on the skin. I love the first 5 minutes when that amazing fresh top note shines through, and it lasts for the next hour too. After that, it quickly becomes very close to the skin for me, which is a shame considering the price. Nevertheless, it’s a lovely fresh fragrance. I’d love to try a vintage batch; they say those are much stronger.

I've layered the PE with #Molecule01 now and was really happy with the result. The longevity was definitely better then...

I think the PE is great too. However, I can also highly recommend the Armaf Legesi, as it performs better and is very similar.
