Retro delicate powderiness
Allegedly, there is only one fragrance note here: daffodil. Narcissus Poeticus is, for me, a white floral composition with jasmine, orange blossom, and neroli. It could also contain some tuberose.
Very soapy.
Not as powdery and straightforward as Infusion D’Iris, my long-time signature scent. At first, I like the fragrance well, the nostalgic soapiness, melancholy, and tenderness, but in the drydown, it becomes too retro for me. The daffodil smells almost honey-like or even a bit "musk-like" here.
After 10 minutes, everything revolves around soapy, clean, powdery white flowers - similar to the style of Santa Maria Novella. The drydown reminds me of Jo Malone's Tuberose and Angelica, although this one is more powdery and less sweet. Overall, it smells chic and elegant. It fits perfectly with a well-groomed, feminine, understated vibe. The scent is meant to evoke spring. The daffodil flower brings a honey-like scent, inspired by childhood memories of perfumer Philippine Courtière in the Jardin du Luxembourg. Floral-fresh, powdery, slightly sweet, and creamy - a fragrance that leans more towards a nostalgic, delicate direction. A moderate presence and longevity.
Character: Pure, fresh, powdery, and floral with subtle elegance and lightness. Perfect for spring. Ideal for everyday wear. This is something a Trad Wife would wear; Nara Smith probably smells so innocent in front of the camera.
Rather reserved.
At first, I thought of mimosa. Mimosa is often used in powdery and romantic fragrances (e.g., with violet, rose, or iris). It is frequently found in soft, feminine compositions or in fresh spring perfumes like Prada Infusion de Mimosa, Hermès Jour d’Hermès, or Fragonard Mimosa.
Style: Elegant, feminine, and yet with a nostalgic twist - "perfectly chic and classy." Fairy-like.
