Love Story.... well...

Since I have heard from many people that the Chloe fragrances are good and sometimes very romantic, I went to the perfume store to form my own opinion about the Chloe scents. I tested every Chloe fragrance... I simply find that 99% of Chloe's scents smell like soap, or am I just imagining it? The saleswoman said that Love Story is one of the most popular Chloe fragrances because it is supposed to be very feminine, so I gave Love Story a chance. With Love Story, I also only smell soap and rose, which I find really disappointing! The Chloe fragrances are not the cheapest either, and at a high price, I think not every scent should smell like soap or rose. I was just disappointed and gave up on these fragrances; I believe I had too high expectations. The scents are indeed feminine, but nothing really special either. The fragrances have neither a special scent progression nor highs and lows; in short, they are just boring for my taste! And with Love Story, I smelled only soap and rose throughout the entire scent progression; only at the end could I detect a slight note of orange blossom, nothing more.
I would be interested in hearing others' opinions on this fragrance because I find it just strange that I only smell soap and rose... The longevity wasn't great either; I could only perceive the scent on my skin for 4 hours.

As I mentioned before, I had too much soap and rose in my nose.

Yes, that's true! The Chloe fragrances are quite soapy. The only ones that really stand out are the very old Chloe EDT and the Love line (not Love Story, but Love, Chloe).

As you go through your fragrance journey, the Chloe scents will start to feel different to you. Your nose becomes more trained, and you notice the differences. However, all Chloes follow a common thread of being watery, soapy, powdery, and fresh floral.

Yes, that's true :) I'm really into fruity gourmand scents anyway.

I really can't get into the Chloe fragrances at all :) but we have plenty of other options to choose from here.

Unfortunately, not a single Chloe perfume has won my heart so far... They all just smell the same to me.

I always found the Chloes too soapy or too citrusy; I often missed the rose. Only Chloe Intense won my heart and had to be added to my collection.
