The Girlie in Me

There is the “child in a man” and there is the “girlie in a woman”.

Maybe I’m entering my second spring, but I recently acquired 2 fragrances that I believe are not necessarily intended for mature women in their prime.

One of them is Secret Potion by Christina Agui…, oh, whatever, it’s too complicated for me, “gg”

The name probably means something like “magic potion” and the cute bottle reminds me of a woman’s body, with a lovely accessory being a golden amulet that no one needs.

But here’s the thing… I actually like the scent, and not just a little… Probably because it makes me feel several years younger… Joking aside…

The first whiff that reaches my nose is associated with a glamorous teenager getting ready to go out. Freshly ironed clothes from mom, long hair smelling of fabric softener, a fresh, unspoiled aroma, pleasant to sniff, somehow likable.

After the top note, the fragrance becomes floral and zesty. A tart passion fruit sprays its scent molecules all around, jasmine and orange blossom share the heart with it.

The base note becomes more mature and less girlish. A bit like “Armani Code for her,” it sneaks in and has a lasting power that even surpasses that, despite the extremely cold temperatures.

The tonka bean adds the finishing touch, I can hardly detect any musk, ebony… probably responsible for the slightly woody touch. I can perceive the tartness of the passion fruit even in the base, paired with the delicious chocolaty “bean”!

This is also the end of the “girlie scent,” as Secret Potion lacks any candy-like sweetness. It has the right to be a “mature” scent on my skin, with which I feel attractive and young, isn’t that something???

And let’s be honest… who among us sweet middle-aged women doesn’t love the things that a young girl likes… the “girlie” in us never dies….

Oh no, I don't think this is a girly scent at all. It's a lovely and mature fragrance. You can also catch that smoky jasmine here, just like in "Dita" and "Jasmin Noir." That's probably the main reason I like it so much.
