mystical smoke and ginger fire
A small jar of finely ground dragon's blood still sits among my incense in the cupboard; I have enjoyed using its smoke to cleanse and clarify the senses.
For dragon's blood opens the "inner" windows wide to air things out and then opens the doors to new, valuable, and soothing experiences.
Deep dark red, this mystical resin in every form of processing reminds one of saffron, and therefore it does not surprise me that this precious spice appears prominently in the opening of the fragrance "Sangue" by the brand CinisLabs:
This fragrance composition smokes and crackles right after application and unfolding.
The two fragrance notes come across a bit muffled, so the addition of the zesty, slightly biting heat of ginger provides a pleasantly warming fire: The blood flows faster, and the senses are ready to absorb what the creative minds conceived.
While the liquid in my sample appears in a surprisingly bright orange, this composition remains in the dark fragrance realm, to which the noble rosewood (how magnificent its mostly polished surfaces looked in the compact wall units of the seventies) and richly spicy, not too dirty oud contribute, adding an oriental touch and magic.
"More aromatherapy than perfume": That is my conclusion about "Sangue," and that is why I also like to wear a few drops of it when I notice that my inner coward is once again standing on its hind legs and thus obstructing things.
It is simpler than setting up a complete incense ritual, and the effect is remarkably similar.
"Sangue" is an interesting and extraordinary, yes: even beautiful creation and definitely worth a try.
And no worries: This fragrant artwork will certainly not attract any vampires!
