An evocative earthy mineral green scent
Source Adage’s Ki’lei is a remarkably nuanced and multi-faceted, aromatic green fragrance that effectively conveys the fragrance inspiration of air around and after a thunderstorm. Ki’lei opens with a blast of green aromatic notes that literally smells like a damp forest floor. You could distinctly sniff out Silver Fir and Fern with herbal notes of Lavender and Rosemary. However, the true distinction of Ki’lei is the “petrichor” quality, or the distinctive smell of an earth rich in minerals post-rain. The “petrichor” note is given tang and a metallic quality thanks to metallic aldehydes, along with some hint of smoke. Ki’lei depicts an ozonic and electrically charged quality of air that you might find just before lighting strikes.
On the dry down, a clean note of jasmine sambac emerges to settle the green earthiness against the sharpness without being floral.
Ki’lei is suited for someone who appreciates unique and conceptual fragrances that tell a story and/or prefers the scent of nature over the typical perfume note.
