One should never ask a lady her age... :D

Hello hello, you fragrance-loving scent enthusiasts :D
Welcome to a new comment from me! Today, I want to tell you a bit about Clinique's "Black Cherry" fragrance and hope that I'm not talking nonsense. Because before I wrote this, I had to quickly (very briefly) look up black cherries, and lo and behold, as far as I understand, black cherries are not a variety on their own but are referred to as "black" when they happen to be quite dark, which could apply to several varieties. I think… no idea…

Well, you know that I'm not very good with botany and such, so please bear with me if I actually end up saying something silly. In any case, the cherry itself is a rather nice scent note, at least in my opinion. Among fruity fragrance notes, I quite like it in women's perfumes, as it not only smells sweet but also simply delicious. Plus, it reminds me of those tasty cherry-flavored lollipops I loved to lick as a child :D

However, this fragrance does smell like cherry, but not as fruity-playful or fresh as usual. It comes across as more mature and elegant, so even those who typically don't like fruity scents might want to give this a try, as it’s not overly fruity.

Aside from that, the name "Black Cherry" somehow makes me think of Black Forest cherry cakes… and that's one of the cake types I really don't like at all…! Anyway, just a side note because I'm currently drinking coffee and, as an insatiable sweet tooth, I thought how great it would have been if I had a cake to go with my coffee *sigh*… but now, back to the fragrance!

**The Fragrance:**
So, at the beginning, I smell a lovely cherry scent that comes across as both slightly sweet and naturally cherry-fruity. In the background, there are brief hints of green and fresh notes, but the fragrance isn't really fresh. Because shortly after, I detect the cardamom… it smells a bit stronger than I usually like, but it's not too bad. The fragrance then takes on a darker aura, meaning it starts to smell a bit heavier and thus more autumnal.
The sweetness of the fragrance increasingly reminds me of an amber/musk mix, and I also perceive general spicy notes as well as a bit of woods, which aren't specified here and therefore might just be my impression. Another sweetness emerges, which appears heavier and spicier and reminds me quite a bit of honey, so I assume this must be labdanum. Additionally, the fragrance also seems a bit oud-like to me.
In the base, the fragrance smells sweetly of a musk-labdanum mix, of cherries that smell darker than usual, and of oud-like woody notes. It is also soft and gentle towards the end. A little later, it briefly smells dry and even a bit too spicy, but then, after a bit more time has passed, the fragrance becomes beautiful and softer again. By the way, the sweetness then smells more like amber instead of musk, and after the spicy notes, the fruity cherry comes back, which at the very end smells more "normally cherry" again rather than riper.

**The Sillage and Longevity:**
The sillage is good at the beginning but diminishes a bit faster than expected over time. However, it should be noticeable for a while when close by. The longevity is quite good, lasting over ten to twelve hours.

**The Bottle:**
The bottle is cylindrical/round with a beautiful dark red color and a golden spray head. The cap is also dark red and matches the bottle very well. Otherwise, the bottle is rather minimalist, as it has no label. All in all, a beautiful bottle.

Okay, I quite liked this fragrance. The cherry smells nice, but as mentioned, it doesn't smell playful, especially until the initial base, but rather "more serious" or mature, which might also be due to the contribution of the spicy and woody notes. Moreover, everything also feels a bit like an oud fragrance. Only much later in the base does the fragrance become a bit looser, as the spicy notes fade.

Thus, this fragrance has definitely become a somewhat heavier autumn/winter scent that could be worn during the day on cold days, but it comes across to me more as an evening or going-out fragrance. And not just for young "things," in case someone might think that because of the cherry, but also for the… um… older among you… or let's say, for those who have already reached their 30s, 40s, and beyond, and… wow,… it's always so difficult to talk about women's age, yes yes… everyone gets all wild and/or offended… hmpf,… just look at us guys, do we complain about getting older? Yes, you see, we don't complain!! Because we men become more distinguished with age, and you ladies will… uh… you are… aaahhh… all the alarm bells are ringing in my head, reminding me that I shouldn't finish my thoughts here… :DDDD So, I’ll wrap it up :)))

So, yes, you can definitely give this fragrance a try, even though I think it’s not a must. Well then, have a lovely evening everyone, and see you next time :)

I still feel way too young for this heavy scent at between 30 and 40 :)
