"Parameasismus,
the term for the state of longing for a person or an object solely because of its inaccessibility"
So or something similar could be found in the dictionary.
My two friends came up with this word when one of them was once again unhappily in love with a young man, and even more intensely and unhappily because she simply could not have him.
This now also applies to me and Aromatics Black Cherry.
The clever marketing people at Clinique have released it exclusively for Harrods in London. And those at Harrods cannot ship it to Germany because it contains alcohol and therefore cannot be sent by air.
And the customer service at Clinique in Germany could not provide me with any information on whether or when it would be available in Germany. They also could not track it down for me.
An eBay seller from the UK did not respond to my inquiry about whether he could exceptionally send me two miniatures.
Galeries Lafayette in France, who have only recently added it to their range, also did not respond to my request.
In short: I have done and contacted everything to get this fragrance.
With every setback, the longing and curiosity grew. I wanted it so much because I could not have it.
Until I found it in my mailbox this morning (thank you, Gold!)
Rip it open. Spray it on.
First thought: chewing gum
Then, yes, cardamom is unmistakably present as well. And as Gold wrote, the cherry could just as well be a plum or another warm fruit for me.
The rest of the fragrance unfolds for me as warm, festive, spicy, fruity, and a bit too sweet. I occasionally perceive the chewing gum trail.
It is definitely pretty, and I can wear it well, but it is not quite worth the effort.
From a fragrance that carries Cherry in its name, I also expect Cherry.
Longevity and sillage are mediocre.
As it often is with love and fragrances: sometimes they lose their magic once you finally conquer them.

Oh yes, I know that phenomenon too... but if it's that hard to get, I can just remove it from my wishlist; I often don't have that much patience. Sometimes that can actually be a real lifesaver... ;)

If anyone wants a decant: I'm happy to fill one up for another enthusiast. Maybe someone is 100% thrilled or horrified... and will write why...

I also suffer from the same condition - as you already know :)). I'm still curious about the scent, but my expectations are definitely tempered now.

Well, I guess I won't have to remember it after all, what a pity.

Since you both didn't rave about it, I can confidently remove the scent from my wishlist now. - Thanks!
