Eau de Cacao at Christmas time makes bellies fat and hips wide. And it causes images in my head.
Scenario 1: I take a cup, add cocoa and sugar, pour it all with hot milk and stir well. A splash of rum must not be missing. To top it off, a dollop of whipped cream goes on top. This is also called Russian chocolate.
Scenario 2: Our village baker makes pralines himself during the Christmas season. Balls of white, milk, and dark chocolate. Filled with different types of truffles. From Pina Colada to cognac truffles, everything is included. The treats taste heavenly.
Eau de Cacao is for me like a mixture of the mentioned scenarios. The warm rum-cocoa rises to my nose, but I also smell chocolate. Very sugary chocolate. It’s as if I’m holding my nose in a bag of pralines. I especially perceive the white and milk chocolate pralines. Filled with vanilla truffle. And rum truffle. Delicious!
When I look at the fragrance pyramid, chocolate, praline, and vanilla set the tone. I smell rum right after spraying. The other ingredients are at best to be guessed; I can’t really smell them. An incredibly delicious scent! However, I have to be in the mood for it. I don’t want to smell like a box of pralines every day. But as Forrest Gump once said, life is a box of chocolates. In that sense, Eau de Cacao smells like life. One should enjoy that. And this is where the circle closes!
If all of this sounds a bit confusing, I must apologize, as I find myself in a kind of chocolate delirium. A cozy chocolate delirium. That is quite intense for me. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last overly long. After three to four hours, I feel the need to reapply. But one shouldn’t overdo it with chocolate. Therefore, the longevity is not to be rated negatively. Aside from that: this scent makes me crave sweets. Honestly! If I were to smell intensely of truffle pralines all day, the consequences would probably be alarming!
So, now I enjoy a little more Eau de Cacao and refrain from chocolate. At least I try to!
