A Formal Rose

Costume National's SCENT GLOSS is a finely framed rose de mai perfume with reasonably good longevity in the edp. This seems perfect for those who love roses but find single-note presentations a bit overwhelming. The musk and the orchid moderate the rose here, creating a creamy, delectable scent with a slightly powdery drydown.

The name somewhat suggests that this is a casual, sweet scent, which it is not--at least not to my nose. Rather, SCENT GLOSS is an excellent choice for either true rose lovers looking for variations on a favorite theme or those who seek a special composition for a special occasion. A beautiful white satin wedding dress comes to mind...

Sweet, pink and girly

Scent Gloss leaves me a little underwhelmed like Scent Sheer did. Everything else from this brand seems a little bit daring, even if a touch unisex, however Scent Gloss is very feminine; girly and 'pink'. A scent better suited to the younger crowd.

It's a delicate and inoffensive blend of pink rose, strawberry, orchid and white musk. The outcome is quite fresh and sweet, even if a little juvenile. It settles like a body spray, yet one that lasts.

The rose is very watered down in Scent Gloss, in fact all I managed to smell was the musk and the fruity nuances. It's a linear fragrance, one that doesn't develop all that well, and it's usually in these cases that I become irritated by perfume brands, 'playing it safe'.

Because it smells so innocent and feminine, I can see why someone would recommend this for weddings. It would suit a white and flowery atmosphere, like that of a childhood dream. Rainbows, lollipops and big, white fluffy dresses aren't really my thing, so I think I'll skip Scent Gloss.

Live has so manny little ups and downs...

After being so disappointed with Scent by Costume National, I eagerly awaited the mail with my Scent Gloss. Then it finally arrived, and of course, my arm had to serve as a testing station immediately.

What can I say? I am just happy that I - once again - followed my gut and made the right decision. I have a lot of fun with these blind purchases; I love surprises. And most of the time, I get lucky. Well, and if there’s the occasional miss, that’s not a big deal.

Scent Gloss is a beautiful, fresh, and lively rose fragrance. It has an acceptable sillage and lasts surprisingly well. It could handle a bit less sweetness, but I don’t have to wear it every day, and there are plenty of greener and less sweet rose scents.

In any case, Scent Gloss is a wonderful addition to my rose fragrance collection.

Wonderful Rose:)

This beautiful perfume is for anyone who loves the scent of roses!! It is one of the best rose perfumes out there!! It doesn't smell harsh and musty after spraying, as is the case with some rose perfumes, but rather sweet-rosy and fresh, with floral orchid! In the base note, there is a hint of white musk, which is not overpowering but instead gives off a soft fragrance paired with the sweetness of the rose!
I can only recommend this perfume:)) It reminds you of a beautiful rose garden, where you want to relax and unwind, letting the roses work their magic on you, whether for the scent or to see the full beauty of the roses:)
