Lovely man's fragrance
I was stunned by this: an ethereal green fern with a vetiver twist. I swear I smell some cyber melon in this, although it's not mentioned (could it be the grapefruit?). I find a slight resemblance to Un Jardin apres la Mousson, or also AG's Matin d'Orage. But it's definitely masculine. I'd love it on my man.

Doctor Who, the Time Lords, and the Cybermen
Cyber is from "cybernetic," from the Greek for "skilled in steering or governing, and Cyber Garden rules the world! I figure out Doctor Who wearing this futuristic scent while fighting against Cybermen. What sci-fiction could represent this scent better than the Time Lord? Cyber Garden is a rich olfactory vista of dark green shrubbery accented with bracing spices, a welcome to the 22nd century.

Back to reality, Cyber Garden is a creation of the perfumer Antoine Lie, and I do have several colognes designed by him, for instance, l'Essence de Cerutti, Cerutti 1881 Fairplay, Davidoff Adventure, and Azzaro Duo Men to mention a few. They are all different from one another, and so does Cyber Garden. It was a blind buy since I found it online for 20 something euro, which is a bargain. The scent is the result of a journey of the imagination to a futuristic garden where nature and molecules live in harmony creating an unexpected olfactory trail characterized by rare and unusual notes.

Cyber Garden is described as a fresh and green scent with three main accords: Green Ether, Vynil Accord, and Hybrid Moss. It's a lovely aromatic green perfume that manages not to smell like a forest, but something rather metrosexual and androgynous.

On my skin, it opens with the energy of green and floral ether, a sort of boozy potion obtained from herbals and flowers steeped into alcohol for a few days, a handful of pink peppercorn, some velvety bergamot, and just a little bit of citrus grapefruit. The opening is not a classic citrusy burst, yet a pleasant and calm aromatic green floral pattern giving the fragrance a subtle abstract twist. Green, soapy-clean, and I do get some of the plasticity-vinyl in the opening, but it's nothing loud or offensive, gives it a somewhat synthetic-licorice smell.

The heart releases the power of the vinyl, and if I close my eyes and let my imagination go, I do get the synthetic smell of the LP's plastic that reaches your nose as soon as you take the record off from the case. This particular note melts wondrously with the dark green geranium, the spicy saffron, and the aqueous violet leaves, releasing a green-violet accord that is vibrant and almost ozonic. A watery metallic accord with a very supportive green armor that gives it a kind of liquidity, making it ideal for strolls at the promenade of my city. Again, even the heart is a tad unusual, all of the ingredient, no matter if natural or synthetic, melt together well and release a comforting smell of purity and peace. The floral heart is where the big contrast happens. A very traditional masculine bouquet alongside the futuristic vinyl metallic note. Retro and modern at the same time.

They are progressing from heart to base, the green notes that began as fresh-cut grass transition into darker basil shades of green, bringing a classic dry-down to what is otherwise an entirely modern fragrance. The base notes arrive with the balsamic, minty, and mossy accord. The rooty vetiver blended with the contemporary soft patchouli keeps the base still fresh. Opoponax and labdanum add some resinousness and smokiness together with a velvety and seductive hybrid moss.

I suggest you try it out. I guess that some will find it annoying and too safe, and some will find it not going with tradition or strong enough. I found a few notes or elements of this fragrance that gripped my attention and found it a great casual city scent, best for spring and summer seasons.

Frutiger Aero
My god. I don’t know if it’s because this was a blind buy and I’m coping hard, but it’s simply amazing.

From the way people described it, I was expecting something futuristic and mysterious. Instead, I found a cheerful, reassuring fragrance. More than Matrixor dystopian, the real keyword here is FRUTIGER AERO: a “nostalgic” future where nature and technology exist in perfect harmony.

Right after spraying, there’s a very strong freshly–cut–grass smell, there’s no other way to say it: it’s insanely good. On top of that you get a pretty bold citrus note and, at least for me, a bit of pepper and a floral nuance, something like rose, although much more delicate compared to the first two.

After the grass and citrus paint the background of this beautiful picture, they make room for the true heart of the fragrance: the saffron-geranium–vinyl triad. I’m not a chemist nor an expert nose, so I honestly can’t explain why it works, but it WORKS. From the reviews I had read, I was worried that the vinyl note would make the fragrance too quirky for daily use or, even worse, give it that “fake cemetery flowers” vibe. Instead, it perfectly bridges the saffron and geranium, enhancing them and giving the scent a touch of originality and nostalgia.

Even at the end of the day, the heart notes remain the stars of the show, while,if I have to be honest,I can’t really detect the base notes listed on Parfumo. Maybe that’s just my lack of experience.

As for performance, longevity is very good, while the sillage is fairly weak. But honestly, since tastes vary from person to person, I actually prefer a perfume that doesn’t choke people who might not like it: I’m insecure, but even if nobody compliments my fragrance from a kilometer away, I’ll manage just fine.

In conclusion: do you want an Andrew Tate sigma–male entrepreneur perfume? Don’t buy this.
Do you want to be happy? Buy it blind.

It doesn't roar at all :-)
Cyber Garden is one of the most curious fragrances I have been able to sniff so far.

Our dear perfumer "Verbena" sent me her remaining sample, giving me the opportunity to test this scent, for which I would like to express my sincere thanks.

When a pharmaceutical technical assistant reads ether, it naturally clicks right away, and I was a little hopeful of being narcotized for free in the form of a fragrance :-)

But of course, that was not the case.

Cyber Garden starts off very fresh, green, but also somewhat mineral, which comes from the combination of green ether with bergamot.

In the background, there is a sour-fruity nuance to be sniffed, which comes from the grapefruit.

And yet, thanks to the pink pepper, there is something very subtly prickly in the nose, but it is not strong enough to cause sneezing fits.

This constellation can be detected on my skin for about 20 minutes before the heart note takes over.

Saffron is clearly and distinctly noticeable; it has a certain spicy leathery hint, but in my opinion, there are just a few drops too many in the creation.

The saffron comes across as slightly stuffy, even a bit musty, making one think of tanned leather.

The rose geranium is also detectable, but in my opinion, it is not pleasantly floral, rather faded, which I attribute to the saffron, as it suppresses the floral aspect too much with its stuffy nature.

Unfortunately, I couldn't detect the violet leaf at all, as the saffron unfortunately dominates too much on my skin, but I can imagine that this certain spiciness in the leathery hint could come from the violet leaf.

Far in the background, I smell warmed plastic.

When I read vinyl, I actually went to my wall, where decorative records hang, which the sun shines on all day, and I sniffed them.

And that fits; this warmed plastic note can indeed be detected in the background.

If someone had seen me sniffing the records, the nice people in white coats would probably have been called right away :-)

The heart note can be detected on my skin for a good 7.5 hours before the base sets in.

Something clear and mossy can be detected, which comes from the mosses.

The vetiver and patchouli only emphasize the mossy clarity with their very light earthy nuances.

Unfortunately, I couldn't sniff out opoponax and labdanum either, and I can also imagine that these two components are just meant to round off the base.

Overall, the fragrance can be detected for exactly 10 hours on my skin.

The sillage is relatively good in the first 30 minutes, not overwhelming, but one is well perceived at arm's length and then settles to be clearly perceived at a quarter of an arm's length, which is maintained until the fifth hour, before it then moves in relatively large steps towards being skin close, until the fragrance finally completely fades away.

In Oilskin Through the Hanging Gardens of Bayer Leverkusen
Well, what can one say about this fragrance?! Is it successful or off the mark? Revolutionary or rather plain?

Hmm, I have mostly experienced disappointment with most fragrances from Costume National and wondered, does every designer label really have to dabble in the fragrance segment?

After a blind buy and today’s first test of Cyber Garden, I must say: Absolutely! At least I finally have a fragrance from the house that I rate at 80% with a tendency towards 90%.

The scent is indeed a bit special, starting with classic citrus notes that quickly blend into a nice chemical component. Yes, I’m thinking that this one could have also appeared under another label starting with "C," which is very much focused on synthetic fragrances. But it is from Costume National and not from Comme des Garcons. However!

This chemically green citrus stuff also reveals a pleasantly warm and mossy-earthy base. Vetiver clearly dominates here alongside labdanum and a hint of opopanax. The patchouli listed in the pyramid could have been incorporated more, in my opinion; otherwise, it is a really harmonious fragrance. I can't really relate to the smell of vinyl.... my records smell more like their old paper covers... :-)

I just visited a friend briefly for a chat, and she said I smelled like the testing lab of Bayer Leverkusen for plant protection or fertilizers.... Be that as it may, I like Cyber Garden, and I warmly recommend it to anyone who has a heart for green-resinous-woody scents with a little touch of chemistry!

Put on your rubber boots and oilskin, grab some lemonade and records, and then off you go into the greenery to experience the Cyber Garden! Currently available at good prices from the Amazons ;-)

Sniffing the scent right off the bottle you'll be knocked out by the ether, vinyl, and resinous accord. What a marvelous synthetic blend!

A green scent that leans a little too heavily into sweetness, into rubbery plastic musks that clench your jaw and ozone that exhausts.

One of those fragrances that fits its name perfectly. Odd and synthetic, but appealing greenery. Sadly, it gets quite tiring after a while.

Consistent creation. Hesperides are accompanied by an ozonic touch, a light sharpness leads to floral rubber.
Then cyber green. *

Hard to describe... it's definitely green, but not herbal or grassy, more like juicy-plastic. Strange, but it has something.
