Queen of Silk Creed 2024

I am one of the lucky winners (thank you Parfumo!) of the Sneak Peek raffle and was delighted to find the fragrance sample in my mailbox today.
Queen of Silk - how fitting, I thought, as I have been watching the series Shogun for a few days now and admire the most beautiful silk kimonos of the noble ladies every evening.
However, while the initially very present magnolia still lets my thoughts wander to East Asia, shortly after that, a very dry, woody note (saffron?) pushes itself forward, paired with a distinct sweetness that possibly comes from the passion fruit, although for me it doesn't smell authentically like this exotic fruit, whose scent and taste I enjoy, as the fragrance remains simply too dry; it lacks the juiciness of the passion fruit. What I smell now I associate much more with the other end of the Silk Road, with oriental souks, with all their rather heavy scents and dust-dry desert air. And then suddenly I realize what this synthetic passion fruit reminds me of: some Tiziana Terenzi fragrance.
After about two hours, the passion fruit retreats, the scent becomes skin-close and slowly transitions into a soft, warm vanilla base, which, fittingly for the Silk Road, is accompanied by a fine note of incense.
For me, it is clearly a fragrance that smells best in the base and, in my opinion, is perfect for evenings in the cooler half of the year.
