Somehow an even more dated version of Viking

Original Viking certainly skews older, it has a very refined old spice feel to it...and it is quite nice.

This on the other hand, I was expecting this based on the notes and things I saw to be something that felt a little younger....somehow to me this feels even older and more dated.

I just don't know about this one, and am not sure why Creed would make this. As I've used original Viking more I've grown to like it a lot, despite it being a scent that reminds me of someone at least double my age.

This one...I just don't see any reason to ever own this.

I disagree with you (respectfully). I'm not a fan of Viking, in fact it's the Creed I like the least but I bought a 50ml anyways; Viking Cologne on the other hand to me is a more modern and younger fragrance (it's my scent of the day btw). It has some hints of Terre d' Hermes and that's always a plus.
Viking Cologne to me is one of the best Creeds. I don't know why I love the Creed house so much, they put a lot of mediocre and underperforming fragrances but I keep coming back to them and Viking Cologne is a love for me

haha I feel the same....except the fact that you can find them very easily at 50% off retail which makes it not so bad...but for the most part they all smell like a much much higher end version of something mass appealing.
