TDH with more woods.
I heard how much this smelled like TDH and I found it for a great price so why not. It indeed does have some close resemblance to TDH, no grapefruit in the opening but a generic citrus blast with some decent pepper to wake you up. This settles into a woody dry down with a very light hint of leather to me.

Truthfully this is a quintessential English Baber Shop scent. If you enjoy shaving, or want to up your game and possibly learnt to enjoy shaving, D.R. Harris has a whole line in the Windsor collection including some of the best shave soap on the market. Great company that goes over looked outside of the wet shaving circles.

A solid Englishman
The man is a repeat offender.
As a fan of English Scents, it was only a matter of time before creations from D.R. Harris expanded my collection.

The fragrances and the predominantly "barber-related" grooming products from D.R. Harris originate from the apothecary house of Daniel Roteley Harris, who opened his business over 200 years ago in one of the most prestigious areas of London on St. James Street.

This unmistakable subtly English style of his high-quality products, combined with an affinity for tradition and his closeness to the English aristocracy, must have been the reason why this family business became the royal supplier to the English royal house just before World War II.

Windsor arrived with DHL in the morning post.
The perfect opportunity to test a new perfume fresh out of the shower.
In great anticipation, and because the first spray completely met my expectations - I did not expect such a strong sillage (lasting until after work at 9 PM) with this fragrance.
On my way to work, I was kindly approached by the baker, then the woman who locked her bike next to mine at the train station, my secretary, and several business contacts could not help but inform me how good and refreshingly clean I smelled.

Windsor begins, as expected, with a distinctly fresh citrus top note featuring sweet orange, lemon, and lime, which appears interwoven with neroli, evoking an incredible Mediterranean freshness for me.
In this opening, the otherwise often omnipresent bergamot is completely omitted, which certainly sets the fragrance apart from many déjà vu experiences.
After this harmonious citrus accord, warming and spicy notes join in, which must be due to the presence of nutmeg, clove, and black pepper, and subsequently complemented by vetiver, geranium, and very subtly leathery notes, which in their entirety are responsible for the already described sillage and long-lastingness, making Windsor not remain as close to the body as I initially experienced subjectively.

This fragrance is wonderfully traditionally English and, despite its age, is anything but a representative of the old man scent genre.
Like with Eau de Colognes, this perfume is conceptually another interpretation of an already known theme.
I simply cannot imagine my repertoire without Windsor anymore.

Between Barbershop and New Car
As a newcomer, I can't yet delve into the olfactory details of scents with precision, so I would like to share the impressions that come to mind as a user of the Windsor series.
I use the shaving soap, the aftershave splash, and the EdT discussed here.
The scent is slightly different in each case, which can certainly be attributed to the various concentrations and base ingredients.

Regarding the shaving soap:
Clean, warm, a bit leathery, a bit woody, slightly citrusy, powdery. It smells exactly like I imagine the scent of an old barbershop. It makes it unmistakably clear that you need to take your time now. It would also be a waste to scrape such rich, fragrant lather off your face just like that.

After the most thorough shave possible comes the moment of truth. Did you handle the razor or safety razor properly, or are you about to go through hell?

The aftershave:
Pepper. A bit of leather. But the pepper. That’s the main event here. You literally pepper your face. It calls out: “Let’s go! Saddle the horse! We want to achieve something great today!”
It’s dry, spicy, invigorating, wonderful.

Now comes the finish with 2 spritzes of the EdT, which presents itself unobtrusively and close to the body like a classic cologne, but is much more long-lasting.
Here, the clean barbershop freshness of the soap merges with the pepper and leather spice of the aftershave, resulting in an urban, herb-fresh scent for men who know what they want. You don’t find this on every corner. Even the base without musk feels wonderfully fresh and outstanding. It pairs perfectly with a dark blue suit, but with black shoes.
If I had to describe this scent in one word, I would say: new car.

The Rise of a Better World
Delightfully fresh at the beginning, it's tempting to immerse oneself in this scent. I want to bathe in this fragrance and splash around in the bygone times that Windsor evokes.
Zionist has already described the perceptible nuances precisely, and I can only add: On the Titanic, I would have noticed this scent on every fourth passenger, which is enormous, considering the fragrance was released into reality in the 2000s. This is how the year 1912 smelled beyond the blast furnaces and backyards. In this lies the impetus for the creation of Windsor, which overwhelms my olfactory system. The distance of catastrophic events, the rich, warm distinction, the maiden voyage of a Titanic from a port, in whose hinterland extensive, soot-covered workers' settlements remain, from whose hard labor the massive metal coffin fades into time.
Windsor does not smell of the absent sweat of the workers. Windsor smells soft and beautiful. The dream of a world that rises above misery and drifts in the ether between times.

Three Surprises
Thanks to a lovely and generous sample of Yatagan, I had the pleasure of experiencing this fragrance. I hadn't read about the scent character beforehand and let myself be surprised.

Scent Development:
My first surprise was the opening: A very fresh, almost piercing citrus start. This aligned perfectly with my preference for fresh, hesperidic scents. Very quickly, a minty, penetratingly fresh note emerged, beautifully balanced with a slightly herbaceous-spicy touch, which I would describe as green/gray, creating a connection that lasted until the end of the fragrance. In between, the spicy notes were occasionally a bit more intense, but never dominant. Throughout the entire, very enduring development, I perceived a fresh-minty, slightly herbaceous-spicy scent.
I was surprised for the second time when I later found no mint in the scent description. I was firmly convinced and had already been pleased that there could be a more subdued version than in what I consider the overly minty “Guerlain homme l’eau.” I see - in a hopefully not too misleading memory of the Guerlain - a similarity between both fragrances and would say that one should try Windsor if the Guerlain is too strictly fresh. This minty impression surely comes from the vetiver-pepper combination. It vaguely reminds me in the fresh and light vetiver note of Tom Ford's “Grey Vetiver” EdT vetiver note, although the one in Windsor is even brighter and lighter. I can't say much about the comparison drawn by some of my predecessors to Terre d'Hermes, as I only remember it very vaguely. However, I believe that Terre seemed significantly sweeter-spicier to me. Before I make any further comparisons that would leave the experts shaking their heads, I better stop here :)

Longevity and Sillage:
Here I was surprised for the third time. I didn't expect it to last so long. I could still perceive it clearly and continuously after 13 hours. It clearly has EdP power for me. As for longevity! Thank goodness (for me personally), the sillage is more restrained. At first, it is slightly perceptible at a distance and gradually draws closer to the body, but is still noticeable to others in the immediate vicinity with movement.

Conclusion:
I was surprised three times, with the first two surprises resulting from previous, intentional lack of information, which naturally makes it not particularly difficult to be surprised :). However, the longevity was truly unexpected.
This fresh-minty, well-measured herbaceous-green-spicy English scent is classically British, straightforward, without frills, natural, and of high quality, leaving no wishes unfulfilled. From my perspective, despite its young year of creation, it feels slightly old-fashioned - I often have this association with vetiver scents - elegant and truly uplifting. Throughout the day, I had this pleasant and finely tuned, entirely unartificial feeling of freshness. Therefore, it is particularly well-suited for summer and also for transitional months. Personally, it is a tad too cold for me, still too strictly fresh to be a purchase option. But it is very close!

A fragrance with this name must have something to offer: between pepper, cedarwood, leather, orange, and Terre d'Hermès in its DNA!

Ethereal-fresh, classic English scent on delicate woods,
missing the outdated feel of many colognes.
Stay a while! You are so beautiful!

Oh, nice, a Windsor?? A variation of Terre d'Hermès, right? Slowly fading away. HRH is pleased, though not really from the socks.

Like with the aftershave, this has a fresh, spicy, and grassy green scent, but it’s noticeably woodier and not quite as intense.

A Royal Affair! This is how King Charles smells: Earth of Hermes. Citrusy-green with a good dose of spice + a hint of leather. A classy scent for the office.
