My Most Beautiful Roses and the Most Beautiful Presentation :)

There is no more beautiful rose on this planet and no more beautiful bottle. However, this opinion is hardly objective, as I am a huge Dalí fan, have spent half my life in Figueres, and thus had to have this bottle. Is it overpriced? Yes, definitely. The composition is in no way worth the astronomical price. Still, it is an extremely beautiful scent, and when it's all gone, you have the mini artwork forever as decoration.

The Resurrection of a Brand?! (Part 2 of 5)

My journey (back) to the Dali brand actually began with a coincidence. I participated in the sharing of “Dali Fabulous 1 (Eau de Parfum Intense)” because the scent and the fragrance pyramid simply appealed to me. It was by no means a disappointment; on the contrary, it was really good and not at all (normal) like I had imagined a Dali fragrance would be.

Hooked by this very good scent experience, I wanted to know what “Dali Fabulous 4 (Eau de Parfum Intense)” might be like. Since I couldn’t find any hints about sources in Germany or anywhere else, I quickly used the contact option on the Dali website.

I then received a very quick response that the Fabulous fragrances were not available for purchase in Germany, and currently, there were no samples available either. They offered to send me scented paper strips to get an impression of the fragrance. I found that very nice and gratefully accepted the offer.
A few days later, the scent letter from France arrived. I sniffed and dared to make the purchase. However, since the website does not allow shipping to Germany, I ordered via email. By the way, there were no shipping costs (as the value of goods was over €50), which I found quite surprising, as the French usually charge quite a bit for shipping.

Through this entire email correspondence, a lively contact developed with the lady from Cofinluxe (the producer of the fragrances). She wanted to know how people in Germany knew about the Fabulous fragrances, etc. So I provided her with some information about Parfumo and what we are dealing with here.

Without my prompting, she then informed me that she would include samples of the new “Haute Parfumerie” series in the shipment.

For the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned that the shipping went smoothly and everything arrived safely and neatly. Oh yes, and the ordered fragrance is also really good on the skin. Dali - for me, already one of the most positive surprises of the year!

But the journey should continue, as I now had the small black box with the “five treasures” and was very curious about what to expect.

To preempt, all five fragrances are of exceptionally high quality. You can literally smell that nothing was “quickly thrown together” and that the selection of fragrance materials was very demanding.

All five fragrances were composed by Alberto Morillas, a true perfumer who has created scents for renowned houses such as By Kilian, Versace, Valentino, Zegna, Calvin Klein, Armani, Kenzo, Givenchy, Amouage, etc. His passion for fragrances is definitely evident in the new Dali series.

All five fragrances are only available in the 100ml size, and each scent is housed in an elaborate bottle with striking decorative embellishments on the cap. This luxurious design is explained by the fact that the fragrance series was inspired by Dali's jewelry art.

So far, everything is at a very high level and a very good step towards repositioning back to the luxury brand.

Now, onto the fragrances themselves:

Regard Scintillant de Mille Beautés (roughly “Sparkling Eyes of a Thousand Beauties”)
…is, in my view, the lightest and most playful fragrance in the entire series and brings the term “young girl charm” to mind. The enchanting scent of rose is “diluted” with musk, so it doesn’t appear as dominant. A rather tart and more bitter than sweet mandarin adds to it. Here and there, a hint of wood rounds off this very fragile scent. I would say that Regard Scintillant de Mille Beautés is a clean, pure, very fine, and white fragrance that is rather subtle but still present. Sometimes it’s the quiet tones that deserve special attention and often give you so much more than loud clamor.

Conclusion: From my very personal perspective, the Dali house has succeeded or will succeed with this Haute-Parfumerie series in establishing itself (again) in the upper fragrance segment. All five fragrances are not only visually but especially content-wise made exclusively and come with the finest ingredients and well-thought-out scent concepts and compositions.
