so La- La
I always enjoy it when a comment on a fragrance contains clear statements, as I can learn a lot depending on the writer, or at least make some sense of it!
Here, this would be the first comment, and I suspect that the previous restraint might align with my impression - I am quite ambivalent about it. Of course, I was aware that there is a better time to test than a late summer day with 28°C in the shade, but first of all, I don't have that in the room, and secondly, I would argue that an autumn-winter fragrance should at least be bearable in summer. I find the fragrance notes interesting, fruity notes darkened with dried plum, along with the spicy-sounding base...hmmm. This could actually be something for the good Holly!
Well, after the first spray, there was an irritation because I think I smell tea, so certain that I quickly glanced at the pyramid again - nope, nothing there. The tea holds its ground, though.
The plum note is not as dark and strong as I expected, and the jasmine note is at least not unpleasant. So, various impressions are swirling around my nose:
Tea - shifts to fruity notes - then, oh my, caramel? - then I perceive
jasmine blossom. This jasmine combo could be tricking me into thinking of the (jasmine) tea that I like to smell but don't enjoy drinking. (Flower water)
In my opinion, this fragrance is indeed a gourmand, but I don't get the impression of smelling something particularly delicious; the other notes ensure that. This wonderfully tasty hint of caramel seems to be teasing me and slips away very quickly. Probably a dried plum/Cashmeran coupling or something like that - no, wait - when I press my nose to my arm, it remains caramel-like.
Now I know what it is: this fragrance doesn't seem to be exquisitely balanced; it smells a bit "bumpy," the notes are simply not woven together tightly. It sounds harsh, but I have to say:
it triggers a "neither here nor there" feeling in me.
On the bay, it is currently relatively inexpensive. I bought a decant and will definitely test it again in autumn...who knows. In any case, the damage is low for me, as the "running alongside," "torn" notes, while not entirely harmonious enough to form a unit, are not unpleasant or disturbing at all.
Conclusion: For fruit or gourmand fans, a possible test candidate, but not a compelling recommendation to test.
