Imitation Fall

Autumn begins with promise - the smell of burning woods, and candied fruit. The former is grande; the latter is interesting at first, then tolerable. Unfortunately, after fifteen minutes, candied fruit is all that this scent becomes. It is like an annoying woodland spirit standing on your shoulder shouting "Candied fruit!" every minute for eight hours until he keels over from exhaustion. Not my cup of tea.
