So far, the fragrance year 2016 has not delivered anything that would meet my long-held wish for at least 3 decent mainstream fragrances to be released.
At least I can state: The horror candidates that characterized the years 2013-2015 have not made an appearance yet.
"Horizon" settles into an acceptable middle ground. A somewhat prickly, quite sour start - mandarin, grapefruit, and ginger are quite sharp here. It’s somewhere between fresh and wiry, but by no means refreshing, as nutmeg and pepper (which have increasingly been used as all-purpose weapons lately) rather hold a spicy and piquant stance.
In the comments, there is a debate about parallels to "Terre d´Hermès" - I would say that a rather poorly copied, unbalanced tendency can indeed be recognized.
After an hour, "Horizon" improves; the sharpness diminishes somewhat, it becomes woodier, slightly mineral, with a hint of vetiver added. However, I don't know where the cocoa is supposed to be. Perhaps a very dry, unsweetened cocoa powder tone in the background, but absolutely marginal.
Longevity is okay; it would probably suffice for a barely passing grade, but certainly no more than that. At least - less catastrophic than quite a bit from the last few years...
