When You're Into Grass…
Hmm, I bet because of the ambiguity of my title you had to laugh, right?
Well, or maybe you rolled your eyes, that could be too… hmm… whatever… :D
Anyway, I hope it's clear to you that by grass I naturally mean the plant in front of your house, in the garden, city park, or elsewhere! Although one could technically roll and smoke all of that too, but I'm sure you're more the experts who know about that, he he he :DD
On the other hand, regular grass can also smell delicious and be addictive. How often have I stood in front of areas with freshly mowed grass, inhaling that wonderful, green scent like a junkie? That juicy, delicious scent that could really tempt you to, well… bite into the grass? :D
So I hope that Grass by Demeter really smells great and authentic like grass :)
**The Scent:**
Hmm… the scent has green notes and does remind me of grass. However, the green note also seems to me to be slightly like a stuffy fig note, which shortly thereafter transforms into an apple-like note.
Overall, it's not bad, but for me, this Demeter doesn't smell 100% like grass, and I don't find the grass scent to be that authentic, even though it's not too bad in general.
Real grass, however, I find much juicier. This one comes across as more perfumey.
What a shame… but I expected a bit more.
**The Sillage and Longevity:**
The sillage is weak and becomes weaker after spraying, and that happens quite quickly.
The longevity is also short, lasting three to four hours.
**The Bottle:**
The bottle is as beautifully green as grass… NOT!!!
As always, the bottle is practical. The only thing that somewhat reminds me of grass is the green stripe on which the name of the fragrance is written… well…
Okay, the scent isn't that bad, but it doesn't come across as very authentic to me either. It could be that I'm just thinking of freshly cut grass and the scent is supposed to "only" smell like grass, but freshly cut grass just smells so much better.
But as I said, this scent isn't bad and comes across as more perfumey, as it also has a slightly fruity and a little floral scent in the background after the briefly flashing stuffy note at the beginning, almost like a light spring fragrance. And if you want, you can actually wear this in spring, at least if you don't mind a little synthetic aftertaste that occasionally appears.
I'm not personally that disappointed, but the scent doesn't smell quite like I expected or rather hoped. I'm used to very different scents from grass… and I hope you know what I mean! :DD

If you like freshly cut grass and Coumarin (woodruff), then give Green Swing a try when you get the chance. Besides the woody notes and vetiver, it really reminds me of freshly cut grass.

Yes, you’re absolutely right! Because hay and cut grass release a lot of coumarin, which is a mild intoxicant. It also acts as a blood thinner. That’s why people love to make punch with real woodruff in May, as it contains a lot of coumarin. Even when prepared without alcohol, it can make you cheerful and a bit high, depending on the amount. Of course, the artificial replicas are completely ineffective.
