The Beautiful Illusion
Today, I want to talk about a fragrance that reached me as a blind test at the end of last year. The brand is completely unknown to me (and I probably wouldn’t have been drawn to the minimalist purple bottle either).
The scent is a quiet companion, starting sweet and creamy, and my initial statement about it was quite positive. As part of my sample depletion February, I decided to bring out the 5ml vial today. So EITHER the fragrance has gone off or I need to delete my old statement.
Initially, my nose delights in the creamy soft fresh jasmine and sandalwood; the scent wraps around me like an aura.
Half a coffee cup later, I think I must have forgotten the deodorant and spontaneously run a half marathon. It smells slightly musty - urinous? As if sandalwood and jasmine don’t get along? And I thought this was finally a sandalwood that I would like… Luckily, I only have to go to the stable and can keep wearing the “stinky sweater,” but that was disheartening… I’ll get another coffee…
