Here comes another exquisite scent to my nose! Dark, with golden speckles, woody, warm, and "vanilla-like".
What strikes me very positively here: It seems that "real vanilla" from the pod has been used, as the aromatic diversity of this "Bourbon vanilla" is far greater than that of the fragrance compound "vanillin". The latter reflects only ONE aroma. Good, but nowhere near as varied. Dark accents meet warm and sweet notes. These, in turn, encounter slightly bitter and resinous ones. A whole kaleidoscope of "vanilla colors".
In addition, there are the "balsamic woods." All resins from drought-resistant trees and shrubs. They also appear very natural. Even if some of them are probably of synthetic origin, this is hardly recognizable to the somewhat trained nose of a "layman" like me. These very authentic amber notes have "width" and "depth," meaning that several fragrance components enrich this scent, just as with the vanilla, which is very multifaceted. And long-lasting with good sillage.
In any case, I feel wrapped in this perfume like in a soft and warm woolen blanket. Occasionally slightly "scratchy," but very pleasant.
This slight roughness is also a point-earning characteristic of "Extravagant Russe," as it makes the scent impression "alive." Unlike the "smooth" fragrances that are indeed "beautiful" but somewhat boring, where no "hair stands up" and they somehow appear "ironed out."
Connoisseurs know what I mean.... ;-))
