Bring back 90s/00s gourmands

I recently discovered this one when my beloved mother threw her old bottle of this at me. When I was a young girl, my mama loved sweet fragrances. She wore it all: Lolita Lempicka, Mugler Angel, etc., and this is one she really enjoyed. But as she’s gotten older, she rejects them with a burning passion. I had heard so much about this one around, so you can imagine my thrill when she was begging me to take it away.

Miss Dior Cherie is that classic 00s style gourmand, where there’s a lot of sweetness, but it’s not to the point where it’s nauseating, cloying, or heavily synthetic like the gourmands of today are. It features a fun popcorn note, in the midsts of a fruit salad drizzled with caramel, and an arrangement of flowers and patchouli. It’s extremely complex while holding onto an air of youth from the time period it was birthed in. It’s grown up without being too mature, and it’s dazzling without being too flamboyant. It’s every floral-gourmand lovers dream come true and it’s a damn shame Dior discontinued it.

Cherie is the epitome of a lover girl who finds romance in every single thing she encounters. She leaves the prettiest trail behind you, creates a bubble that draws compliments and makes people want to get closer to you, and won’t leave your side all day long. I love her dearly and I love that my mother led me to her.
