After a winter that was actually not a winter at all, spring suddenly and strongly moves across the country. The sun is already warming up very strongly, the birds are already chirping in the morning and when walking with the dog I immediately notice the violets in the bushes. Of course, in the gardens the snowdrops and daffodils have been showing for a long time, the crocuses have almost faded. On days like these I go through my collection in my thoughts and have the desire for DIOR. Mind you, for the old Dior fragrances, which convey this basic mood of the Dior house. Lovely, this base note of old Monsieur Dior. It brings back memories of the time when 7.5 ml Extrait was a treasure, when Dior was something very special next to Chanel, to be found in the nest at Christmas or Easter. The smell of Miss Dior is in my memory, but now, as a 7.5 ml vintage flacon enters, I take a little pinch. Oh!!!!! How beautiful, spring in a glass! Spring all over my head. The extract gets past the citric components, straight to the point, to the delightful heart note, which brings back memories of the sun-drenched, brooding maquis in the south of France. Crickets chirp, rosemary grows everywhere, fragrant herbs sprout, the soil is barren and the most beautiful scent here is that of cistus. So hot, so intense, so flattering, and so unforgettable. This is the heart of Miss Dior. The scent is only slightly accentuated with carnation and, I think, narcissus. This mixture makes me feel happy, reminds me of the 70s, when the 2CV Duck was driving through all roundabouts in Nimes, when you found a parking space on the Croisette in Cannes and sipped an espresso between plane trees and the sea. Dreams, more beautiful than a movie. The sea, deep blue, in sight and a light touch of summer in the air.
I will wear the scent this summer, I will soak it up again, sniff it and enjoy it. It's wonderful he's still around.
