The beginning...

In the beginning was the Sauvage.
Some time ago, I was in Rome. It was humid, hot and I - completely without perfume - stank of sweat after a hard noon, where I struggled from one sight to the next. The Vatican was crowded, the numerous steps did me the rest.

By chance, I then came across a perfumery in the city. Without any idea I tried me through the fragrances. None pleased me so right.
But then I lifted this metal cap off a blue and precious-looking Dior bottle.
A spray on the test strip and it was done around me...
It was the enlightenment.

Immediately I bought the fragrance and sprayed myself with it. The overdose of Ambrox didn't bother me. Anything was better than that sweaty smell that would be completely masked by the sharp freshness. The

In the evening, of course, I showered and sprayed on Dior Sauvage again. It went perfectly with the restaurant visit.

Also the next day I pulled a cloud Sauvage behind me here. Just like the countless days after that. This magic scent just always seemed to fit...

But little by little, I became uncomfortable with this scent. It was no longer a joy to track it down, but much more of a routine. The sharpness felt unpleasant. The freshness cheap.
My only scent, which I had liked so much, had turned into a boring broth that I struggled to tolerate.
New fragrances had to come. None convinced me from the beginning as Sauvage once did. None is -in my eyes- as versatile as Sauvage once was.
But thanks to Sauvage I am a little bit immersed in the depth world of perfumes.
After a few months hiatus, I rarely wear Sauvage anymore. But I often catch myself sniffing that bottle and remembering how I learned to love my first fragrance in the sweltering heat of Rome...

Thank you for this, Sauvage.
