I have already written a statement about the scent, but it has captured my heart so completely that it deserves a review.
I really do not understand why this scent is not rated better among perfume enthusiasts. Of course, it's all a matter of taste, but such a masterpiece should still be recognized. For me, the scent is an absolute masterpiece, and I understand that it may not be to everyone's liking, but the elegant and excellent composition is very clearly discernible, and it almost breaks my heart that the scent is not rated better here. Francis Kurkdjian has created something so wonderful here from just a few notes, as only a master perfumer can do.
The scent is very cool and soapy in the opening. It reminds me of a super expensive French soap. Not laundry detergent, but soap, when it smells its absolute best and most luxurious. I suspect that aldehydes are responsible for the soapy and pure aspect.
After the aldehyde note becomes more subtle after a while, the scent radiates a crystal-clear frankincense that I have never smelled before. Like a crystal-clear winter morning, where the frosty ground sparkles and the air is so clear and cool, the scent now simply radiates beauty that takes your breath away. In the further drydown, the real magic happens. A warm amber note envelops the scent like a cloak. The scent becomes slightly sweeter but never loses its elegant and cool aura.
For all frankincense lovers who enjoy cool and unsweetened fragrances, this scent is worth a try.
One of the best scents.
It's also great for layering, adding a cool and sharp layer to a composition. Super versatile as well!
