Unconventional vanilla with not so great performance
Eau Duelle EDT is definitely one of the more unique vanillas I’ve come across. As vanilla continues to dominate the fragrance market and world, this is one that stands out among the crowd and offers a smooth, dry but still sweet vanilla…. with a twist! This is the vanillas for non-gourmand style vanilla lovers.
If you don’t like spicy vanilla scents, this probably won’t be your jam but as someone that loves spicy scents, I knew I was going to love this one. It’s both fresh and warm spicy to me, which adds a sort of boozy vibe to the scent that you get with scents like MFK Grand Soir (whiskey/bourbon-y) and Gentle Fluidity Silver (straight gin). It’s totally unisex and is wearable in all seasons because of the duality of its sweetness and coziness but still fresh and dryness. It’s quite a fragrance if you ask me and really speaks well for the type of scents Diptyque creates.
While this fragrance is a love for me, I’ve declutterred it because the sillage/projection is terrible, even when applying to clothes. I don’t have an issue with longevity for any of the Diptyques (this one gives me a solid 7+ hours with moderate application), but projection seems to be a problem for a few I’ve tried. Regardless, this is a fantastic scent that I think everyone should at least try!
