My
minty-citrusy
antiseptic-skepticism
with warm-spicy
hearty immortelle and herbs
smoothing the furrowed brow.
Summer.

Me too. I really like these non-cheesy citrus scents in the summer.

Look at that, no Botox needed! Then I’d gladly take it too ;)

Looking at it this way, I think I'll spray some more 😅

Yes, that's how I perceived it too, and the immortelle is well integrated.

Antiseptic alpine meadow hay, aha, oh yes.
Doesn't sound too bad.

I can handle those crunchy, dry citrus notes pretty well without smelling like a cleaner, but without the finely integrated immortelle, it would be only half as nice.

I think that's excellent too! I wore it quite often two summers ago + it has a lovely connection to the earlier Diptyque scents that often had that antiseptic touch...

I'm almost part of the militant wing of antiseptic skeptics, so there's a constant wrinkle risk. But I can totally understand why it's been a great companion for you this summer.

@Jeob I’m not a fan of sweet fresh scents either; I prefer something more herbaceous and bitter-orange. Here, it’s the mint that puts me off the most, not so much the citrus.

I’m increasingly getting along well with those crunchy citrus notes, especially when they hint at a landscape as they develop. On the other hand, I often struggle with those classic "freshies" that like to bathe their citrus fruits in sugar or tea.

It's always a fine line for me between medicinal (yes, please!) and cleaner (definitely not)...
Translated · Show originalShow translation
JeobJeob 6 months ago
I rarely have that cleaner association (not here either), so I might not be the best reference. But I would say it leans more towards medicine (antiseptic).

The fragrance notes and your state are convincing. The brand always leaves me feeling a bit skeptical.

For me, it's hit & miss. This one could also be one of the very early ones. I really like it.

More peppermint, I like it! For me, the mint has to smooth out the immortelle wrinkles 😅

I do love mint, although usually less menthol-y than this. I don't think you need to be afraid of the immortelle here. It's more subtle and reminds me more of dried grass than of Maggi, curry, and the like.

I completely agree. Very pleasantly edgy and still optimistically summery.

I really like mint (or more like menthol here), and I do here as well. However, combined with the very strong citrus notes, I can understand the associations that lean towards the medicinal, antiseptic side, although they don't bother me.

These strong, bold citrus notes (lemon, orange) wrapped in a mint-menthol layer could be a nightmare for anyone who associates sharp, ethereal citrus fruits with cleaners. It actually smells almost antiseptic, which creates a nice tension, as the immortelle starts to work its magic and pulls the scent into other realms, namely landscapes. The straw flower is wonderfully integrated; it's warm and dry and reminds me of spicy, dried grass. Rosemary and thyme complement it. The musk at the end has a slight cumin note (might be just my imagination). Overall, it also has a nearly salty quality. Someone here described it as medicinal-mediterranean, and I think that captures it perfectly.
